Highlight is the entire trip! - Our truffle hunting experience in the Tuscan countryside was easily the highlights of our entire trip. From start to finish, everything felt warm, personal, and unforgettable. First, we have to rave about our driver, Christian. He went so far above and beyond anything we expected. Not only did he make the ride comfortable and fun, but he surprised us with a stop at a stunning Florence overlook, gave us great local insights along the way, and even drove us directly back to our hotel after the tour — no extra transfers, no stress. On top of all that, he helped my mom explore clues about her Italian ancestry, which meant the world to us. He’s the kind of person who turns a great experience into a truly special one. The truffle hunt itself was incredible. We were lucky enough to go out with Lillo, a 15-month-old truffle dog just learning the ropes (and needed persuasion with pollo(chicken)) — and watching him work was pure joy. Guided by Luigi and his son Luca, we learned so much about the tradition, the land, and what makes truffle hunting such a cherished part of Tuscan culture. They were patient, passionate, and clearly loved what they do. After the hunt, we were treated to a home-cooked meal that I am still thinking about. Simone and Luca (the brothers) prepared everything with so much care. The standout dish? The squash lasagna — something I never knew I needed in my life until the very first bite. Truly unforgettable. If you want an authentic, heartfelt, and delicious Tuscan experience, this is it. From Christian to Lillo to the entire family, every moment was thoughtful, memorable, and absolutely worth it. Highly, highly recommend.

10 stars! Phenomenal! - Where do I begin? What a PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE. Christian our driver, Franchesco the Truffle Hunter and Sally the best dog - made this experience beyond amazing. The hunt was thrilling, we found white truffles! The lunch was extraordinary ( the view and the service) and oh my gosh the shopping at San Gimignano was an experience in itself. Thank you for a wonderful time!

An incredible authentic Italian experience and amazing food! - This was hands down, the best experience we had during our trip in Italy. We met with our guide Lorenzo, in Florence and took a well air-conditioned van for about a 1 hr drive to the vineyards of chianti region. Lorenzo was so passionate about the region and was very knowledgeable about the local food, plants and culture and we immediately were grateful that he was so welcoming and helpful! Lorenzo made sure the entire trip to accommodate us and made sure the trip was stress free and fun! After arriving at a stunning setting for our truffle hunting, we were greeted by a local family with many decades of experience truffle hunting with their dogs. We spent about 1 hr and 10 minutes hunting for truffles and our truffle hunting puppy Lilo found so many black summer truffles! Afterwards, the family prepared an incredible lunch for us using vegetables fresh from their garden, and the truffles that we hunted. Salad, pasta, steak, dessert, wine grown at their vineyard and coffee to finish off the meal. This was the best meal we had even better than a 2 star michelin restaurant we visited during our trip because it was truly authentic with absolutely fresh ingredients, not a commercialized production of food. Afterwards we visited San Gimignano on our way back and it was very charming and picturesque. We enjoyed some really awesome shops there as well. I’ll never forget this experience and if you have time to spend a day looking for an authentic experience, this is it!!!

Francesco is fantastico! - What an incredible excursion unlike anything we e ever done before. Francesco and our driver were very friendly, informative and fun! All the details were well thought out - the upfront communication, from the transpo arrangement, to even the shoe coverings! Each segment was wonderful - the dogs, finding and digging up the truffles, the truffle meal, the ancient city. You can’t make this up - it’s a true experience. We loved this and it was absolutely worth it!

Great Day despite the rain. - Guido was by far, the best guide we had on all the tours we did in Italy. He was very engaging and knew his history and kept us informed of everything we were seeing. Unfortunately, the Truffle Hunting part of the tour had to be cancelled due to heavy rain and unsafe conditions in the forest for the dogs and us. The tour office pivoted nicely - added a wonderful 4 course lunch at Fattoria Poggio Alloro which was fantastic. We also visited San Gimignano, and he steered us to the 2024 world champion gelato store! Excellent. We spotted the American Cemetary in Florence on the way and stopped there for to pay our respects. On the way back to Florence, we stopped at Michaelangelo Square, overlooking Florence - spectacular view. Finally, he dropped us off at the Leather School in Florence and introduced us to one of his friends who worked there. Really interesting experience.

Relaxing adventure - The walk in the woods was relaxing. Watching the dogs find and explode with energy to dig the mushroom out was fun. Amazing these dogs. A wonderful day completed by lunch and wine.
