An unforgettable evening of Authentic Florentine Flavors with the incredible guide Kat!! - In the golden glow of a December sunset in Florence, we met our wonderful guide Kat—a true local whose passion for her city made all the difference on this exceptional food tour. Kat led us to hidden gems that only a Florentine would know: starting at a little restaurant with its breathtaking view over the Arno and Ponte Vecchio, where we savored exquisite cold cuts, hearty ribollita and pappa al pomodoro (classic Tuscan "peasant" soups reborn as comfort food perfection), aged 30-year traditional balsamic vinegar, and a divine schiacciata sandwich layered with creamy pecorino, fig jam, and salami. Next, the charming type of bar/restaurant with its historic wine window (one of Florence's iconic "buchette del vino," originally used centuries ago during plagues for contactless service—and cleverly to dodge taxes!), where we enjoyed crisp Chianti paired with crostini topped with fresh tomato and rich tuna. The highlight was a Trattoria, indulging in silky pasta al tartufo and the legendary bistecca alla Fiorentina—perfectly grilled, juicy, and served rare, just as Florentines insist. We ended sweetly at La Strega Nocciola with some of the creamiest, most flavorful gelato we've ever tasted. The food was outstanding—fresh, authentic, and generous—but what elevated this tour to unforgettable was Kat. As a lifelong local, she didn't just feed us; she brought Florence to life with captivating stories about its history, quirky traditions (like those wine windows!), and the Florentine way of eating: simple, seasonal ingredients celebrated without fuss, why ribollita is "reboiled" for deeper flavor, and how Tuscans savor meals slowly with family and friends. Her anecdotes and insights turned a great tasting into a deep cultural immersion. Traveling is about creating memories to cherish forever, and Kat helped us craft one of the most perfect evenings: delicious food, stunning views, and warm company in the heart of Florence. Highlight of our trip to Florence - We did this tour in September 2024 and loved it so much that we wanted to bring our children back to share the experience. Fast forward to December 2025 and we were fortunate enough to spend the evening with Katerina, the most delightful, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide you could wish for. She radiates joy and takes great pleasure in introducing the food of her region to others. The tour includes so much more than just food - history, culture and fun. Best food Tour Ever! - We are food tour regulars and try to go on food tours everywhere we go. This was by far the best tour we have ever been on. The food was amazing. The guide was fun and the wine and drinks flowed freely. We had the best time and so did the kids. We still talk about this tour all the time and compare other tours to this one.

100 Stars - This was a fabulous evening from start to finish. My husband and I were the only 2 in the group and were thrilled they still ran the activity just for us . Our guide Kat was such good company . Knowledgeable, very sweet and friendly - just a pleasure to be around. The stops and food were excellent - I was so full I could not even think about the gelato for the final stop . The truffle pasta dish was literally one of the best we have had in 2 trips to Italy. Another highlight was the tasting of the 30 year old balsamic at our first stop as well as the best table in the house with a view of the river . 100 stars - amazing value for the money and a perfect evening . Enjoyable, Lots of Food + Drinks - Lea was my tour guide, and she was very lovely and charming and made the experience enjoyable weaving in history in between our copious meals and drinks. In terms of the food, I enjoyed the first restaurant the best by far; the other two were okay, but didn’t leave me in awe like the first.

Food tour - Knowledgeable guide who was friendly. The food was amazing. The group enjoyable. We don’t drink and my husband is pescatarian and they were very accommodating. Loved it!
