Behind Palazzo Pitti lies the magnificent Boboli Gardens. Initially curated by the Medici, these gardens established the Italian garden style that inspired many European courts. This expansive green area, meticulously organized, serves as a true open-air museum, featuring ancient and Renaissance statues, embellished with grottos, notably the renowned one by Bernardo Buontalenti, and grand fountains like those of Neptune and Ocean. The later Lorena and Savoy dynasties enhanced the gardens further, expanding its boundaries to reach the ancient city walls up to Porta Romana.
