- Sea Lion Caves - Sea Lion Caves is a privately owned wildlife preserve and bird sanctuary established in 1932, located just 11 miles north of Florence along the stunning and rugged Oregon Coast. Proudly part of the Oregon/Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve, Sea Lion Caves contributes to the protection of local marine life and their environment. As the largest sea cave in America, it serves as a year-round habitat for the Steller sea lion. However, these wild animals are not always present in the Cave, as they roam freely in their natural habitat.
- Heceta Head Lighthouse - Commonly pronounced “Ha – SEE – Ta,” Heceta Head is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful lighthouses globally. The Heceta Head Lighthouse and the Light Keeper’s residence date back to 1894 and are both listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This operational lighthouse, perched 205 feet above the ocean, features a “first order” Fresnel lens that projects its beams 21 miles out to sea, making it the brightest light on the Oregon coast. It is reputed to be the most photographed lighthouse in the United States.
- Yachats coastline - In Yachats, visitors can enjoy a variety of dining options for lunch, along with galleries, boutiques, and coffee shops, or perhaps indulge in some ice cream! For seafood enthusiasts, the local restaurants offer the freshest catches, sourced directly from local fishermen who take pride in their daily catch.
- Devil’s Churn - This deep chasm reveals the volcanic history of the shoreline and demonstrates the ocean’s relentless, powerful force. Likely originating as a narrow fracture or collapsed lava tube in the volcanic bedrock, the chasm has widened over thousands of years due to the constant pounding of ocean waves, now spanning more than 80 feet at its ocean opening.
- Cape Perpetua Scenic Area - Cape Perpetua is a vast forested headland on the central Oregon Coast that extends into the Pacific Ocean. As part of the Siuslaw National Forest, it offers a remarkable experience with towering trees emerging through coastal fog, frothy surf crashing against jagged shores, and majestic headlands providing clear views for miles.
- Florence Oregon Boardwalk Market - The visit includes the Historic Old Town district of this inland coastal village, originally constructed on docks along the Siuslaw River banks. With a rich history in logging and fishing, Florence was ideally situated between the coastal forest range and the Pacific Ocean, benefiting from easy river access.
