You should be certified mad if you do not go here - This is one of the more intimate, traditional tablaos in Seville, and they lean heavily into the pure, Gitano-rooted styles, which is why you’re feeling that mix of passion, tension, and almost confrontational energy. That’s intentional. Let me give you a quick guide to what you’re actually seeing so you can read the emotional language of the show in real time. 🎭 What Makes Sala Almoraima Feel So Intense It’s a small venue, close to the performers, and they tend to feature cante jondo and serious palos rather than the tourist-friendly, upbeat sets. That means you’re getting the real thing — the stuff locals respect. Here’s what’s likely happening on stage: 🔥 1. The Singer (El Cantaor / La Cantaora) They often lead with soleá or seguiriyas. These are not happy songs. They’re about: • loneliness • injustice • heartbreak • existential pain The vocal style is deliberately strained, almost like a cry. That’s why it can feel like anger — it’s actually duende, the emotional “possession” that flamenco artists chase. 👣 2. The Dancer (El/La Bailaor/a) In a venue like Almoraima, the dancer isn’t performing for applause — they’re in a kind of emotional dialogue with the singer and guitarist. You’ll see: • sharp, percussive footwork (zapateado) • sudden freezes • intense eye contact • a proud, upright posture This isn’t aggression toward the audience — it’s a form of defiance, a hallmark of Gitano flamenco. Historically, it’s the body saying: I’m still here. 🎸 3. The Guitarist (El Tocaor) They’re not just accompaniment. They’re provoking the dancer, supporting the singer, and shaping the emotional arc. In serious palos, the guitar often sounds: • minor • tense • rhythmic rather than melodic That tension is part of the emotional architecture. You have to go and see it, forget the fancy ritz you see on TV this is authentic passionate and well worth the money and more.

Very enjoyable. Exciting and intense. - We visited **Tablao Flamenco Almoraima** on Calle Pagés del Corro for a one-hour flamenco show in the heart of Triana, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The venue is small and intimate, with only around 20 people in the audience the night we attended — mostly couples like us, though there were also four children under 15 who seemed to really enjoy the performance. Seating is very close to the stage (no more than about 10 feet away), which makes the whole experience feel personal and immersive. The dancing was spectacular and the guitar playing equally impressive. The performers were passionate and intense, and you could really feel the emotion and energy in every movement and note. Being so close meant we could appreciate the intricate footwork and subtle expressions that might be lost in a larger venue. There was a short five-minute interval to allow both the performers and audience to catch their breath before the second part of the show, which was very welcome given the intensity of the performance. Overall, this was a very enjoyable evening and a spectacular introduction to flamenco for us. We would happily visit again and would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and intimate flamenco experience in Triana.

A great show / experience - Great flamenco show. Cosy atmosphere in a room for about 60 people. In our booking (via the tourist information) tapas and a drink were included in the price. Various hams and cheeses were served as tapas, along with a few crackers. Big eaters should eat a little something first. If you book including tapas, you get a reserved seat with table. The entire performance lasts about 1 hour. In between, short breaks are made, this is also absolutely necessary because the dancers spent themselves in this way. Cameras and mobile phones are not allowed to film. At the end of the show you get the opportunity to take a photo. A really great experience !

Flamenco Mon 11th August 2025 Triana - Chose initially as less than an 8 minute walk from where we stayed. Small venue, very traditional, excellent flamenco and music. Staff attentive and good value for money. We were advised that the dancers and musicians are not always the same but when we attended they were excellent.

frankly not great, especially for the price - in 1 week d Andalusia we saw 4 flamenco shows and this one was by far the least mesmerizing and the most disappointing especially for the price bland, no emotions, 1 hour of show but several breaks of a few minutes, we watch the guitarist tune his guitar... in short I think of the max 30 minutes of show in summary disappointed because everything was seller, the intimate show, few spectators, close to the stage... decu I do not recommend
