Good wine and better people at Volubilia Winery - Good explanation, a very abundant snack with a lot of cheese, olive oil and bread! More wine than what you drink! Mohamed a good and knowledgeable guide!

Great - This was an amazing experience. Hamza went above and beyond and brought us to this winery. And yes, Morocco has beautiful wineries. It was a lush atmosphere along with a large vineyard with grape vines. Also I don’t want to set expectations, but we even were sent home with the bottles of wine that were opened for tasting. Hamza also took us on a short tour of Meknes, and then made sure we had a great dinner as we picked and dropped us at a restaurant in new Fez. Thanks Hamza. Highly recommend this experience.

Amazing - Hamza is an amazing guide and went above and beyond- even made sure we had a great dinner afterwards and got home safely at night. It was grately appreciated. And yes, the winery is gorgeous and incredibly. It felt like we were in France. They are so kind and also go above and beyond at the winery.

Hamza offers a quality tour - Hamza is an excellent driver! He is extremely punctual, friendly, courteous, kind, and conscientious. Not only was he at a meeting point outside of the list in order to accommodate us, he arrived in a very comfortable vehicle at exactly 10h00! He provided water for us, spoke knowledgeably about the area (society, geography, climate, agriculture, history), and its viticulture and got us to Villa Volubilia on time. Here, our guide gave us a fun, informative tour of the vineyard and winery, discussing the challenges, advantages, and history of wine-making in the Meknes area. We learned about their techniques and the families behind this particular venture. We took many photos of this stunning winery. Then, we had a lovely aperitif of their chilled rosé wine before moving on to lunch with a vin gris, red blend and a Fab Cab! The food was excellent and the wines were superb! The pairings were spot on. The table was set beautifully under a shady tree with rows of rosemary bushes forming a hedge and many hibiscus and other lovely flowers all around. The service was as impeccably impressive as the food and wine. Similar to the staff, Hamza checked on us to let us know that we could take our time but that he is ready for us nearby whenever we are ready. Before leaving we purchased some bottles and a little swag from the shop, and spoke a bit with the charming owner. All of this was seamlessly done between English and French. This was the best experience and true highlight of not only Fez but also of all of Morocco. We go to magical Marrakesh and captivating Casablanca next. We expect these will be tremendous experiences too but Hamza’s tour of Marvellous Meknes and Vibrant Villa Volubilia has set the bar very high. As people who worked in n the gastronomic, oenological, and hospitality industries for a number of years, we recognize quality. Hamza’s tour is a quality experience that is definitely worth it. Do yourselves a favour and enjoy Hamza’s tour of Meknes’ Villa Volubilia.

So much effort to bring the guests, so little effort when we're finally there - A two-fold experience What was excellent - the transfer, the car, the timing. The core element of the tour, though - not quite. The tour through the winery took about 5 minutes with very short stops in the tank area, bottling area and the storage. What's missing? Even a brief review of the growing wines - I'd appreciate at least a short show of where they grow what and how the wine sorts look in the plant form. Then the tasting as such. We had 4 wines offered - a rose, a gris, a red and a better red. Surprisingly, no whites at all, yet a nice selection. As there were just two of us, we didn't finish the bottles, and there was some hiccup with taking them with us - the first waiter said 'it's not possible' but immediately the second one showed up with 2 wine corks and asked 'which two?' I wonder, if we were more persistent, would the third waiter bring 4 corks? As for the tasting itself, wine presentation consisted of 'that's our rose' 'that's our gris' etc. No info whatsoever, no wine sorts, no production details. And no questions to us at all - other than the 'did you like it?' As if no one cared what we sensed in the wine - I'm not saying I have a great skill, but doesn't it interest the maker what a consumer thinks of the goods? The lack of communication might be caused by the lack of english skills, and MAYBE, IF we had talked French, we'd have had a much livelier tasting time. We didn't have lunch at the wineyard because they only serve lunch to groups of 4 and more (? That's what the driver said, I didn't cross-check it) so we were brought to a nice grill place in Meknes and had a lunch. I'm not saying the lunch at the wineyard would necessarily be tastier, but it's surely a bit of failed expectations.
