Best Family Lunch! - We had a wonderful time at our cooking class with Hassan and the Sultana staff. Definitely recommend for a family activity - our kids loved it and are excited to make the dishes again when we are back home. We cooked multiple dishes and enjoyed a leisurely lunch. Pick up and drop off was included from our Riad too! Thanks to everyone at Sultana!

"Incredible, Authentic Cooking Experience in Moroccan Home" - OMG, what an incredible, authentic experience cooking with Souad and her family. We started by going to the market to pick out the fresh ingredients for our meal of lamb tagine with apricots & prunes, homemade bread, Moroccan salad, a beet smoothie, and 4 traditional side dishes (aubergine, carrots, peppers, and sweet potatoes). The meat was definitely “fresh. ” Such a fun and colourful experience. Next, Souad, took us to her mother & sister-in-law’s home in the ancient medina. Despite little or no English, they helped us chop, slice, peel, boil, cut, shred, grill, juice, knead, and pressure cook everything we needed for the next several hours. We used a lot of spices including cumin, tuneric, garlic, ginger, saffron, preserved lemons and the magical elixir called “44 spice” blend. I took lots of notes and photos since no English meant no written recipes - and our expert chefs measured more by experience & love, than cups or tablespoons. We made some homemade bread, and when it had risen enough, we walked our tray of loaves through the market to the community oven to bake. So cool! When the bread was ready we walked it home and enjoyed our feast. SO YUMMY and beautifully & artfully plated!!!!! Such an amazing adventure and definitely a real slice of life of many Moroccan women’s daily life. Definitely a highlight of our 3 week stay in Morocco.

Cooking class at Soufian - A wonderful experience! Soufian took us shopping at the market and then took us to his family. There we cooked with his mother Fatima and the sister and learned a lot of interesting things about Moroccan cuisine and culture. The lunch together was fun, the food was also excellent! A great recommendation to get to know the country & people better. This family is very welcoming and fun. Thank you for the great experience!

Wonderful family, excellent experience! - It was a very enjoyable afternoon with Soufian and his family! Soufian picked us up at our Riad and took us shopping for all the items needed to cook our meals... he even bought extra pomegranate’s for me because I said they are my favourite! We were welcomed into their home to enjoy some mint tea and then we went to work. Soufian’s mother showed us every step and let us help wherever we could (or wanted). Even though there was a language barrier, she made sure we understood each step along the way. Once the meal was prepared we went into their sitting room to enjoy all the amazing food. We invited their family to join us and we had a really fun time... so much laughter, it was a lot of fun. Soufian walked us back to our Riad after we took some beautiful family photos and enjoyed their terrace over looking the Médina. I highly recommend Soufian and his family for this experience... and I hate cooking in real life!!

Great cooking workshop - What a great day! We were picked up by a taxi and after a short drive welcomed by host Hamza and Chef Nezha. At a beautiful location in Fez we first made and drank Moroccan tea. Then we discussed the menu and started making bread dough. After we had formed the dough into buns we all walked with the dough to a bakery in the Medina to have the bread baked. After this it was time for shopping in the narrow streets of the Medina. All products are purchased here so everything fresh for the Tajine. Hamza and Nezha showed us with great pleasure and patience how to process and prepare the meat and vegetables, resulting in us enjoying an extensive Moroccan salad, 3 tagines (chicken, lamb and beef) and dessert on the roof terrace. The pictures (made by Hamza) we soon received via whatsapp. Highly recommended this workshop! Thank you Hamza and Nezha!

Highlight of our stay in Fes! - Soufiane picked us up at our riad, and took us directly to market. It was a holiday, so not every stand was open. One of our group desired camel... and the very first meat vendor we found open specialized in it! Soufiane bought a large portion of ground camel, then found many fresh veggies and fruits. We took our treasures to his home. Soufiane's family was so gracious and welcoming... not to mention talented! It was a true family affair as his mama and sister cooked, his papa took our bread to the communal oven, his brother grilled our exotic protein. Delicious!! Everything was yummy, and I was glad to have a hand in its preparation. Soufiane's energy is wonderful. He is very accommodating, as evidenced by his flexibility with our menu/odd protein choice. His language skills and entrepreneurial attitude kept our conversations lively and easy. Highly recommend!!

Soufian and his family are amazing! - I thoroughly enjoyed my cooking class experience with Soufian and his family. From the very beginning, he was extremely warm, attentive to our needs, educating us on the food / culture, and just all around a great person. If you are looking for a cooking class that is authentic to Morroco, look no further! (Also, request Soufian! :)

Great experience - Our cooking class with Soufian was great! He came to pick us up at the correct time and took us to the market to go shopping for food. Soufian's English is really good and he explained a lot to us about the Morocan country, culture and food. We really enjoyed cooking with his mom and sister, they were very kind. We had a great time and enjoyed the meal together with Soufian and his family. Thanks again Soufian!
