Journey from Fes to Merzouga

Medina of Fez - The adventure begins in the Medina of Fes, where the driver/guide will collect travelers from their hotel.

Ifrane - The journey from Fes will lead through Ifrane, a winter ski resort established by the French in the 1930s, crafted to resemble a charming Swiss village.

Azrou Cedar Forest - Continue the journey through the cedar forest in Azrou, where monkeys can be spotted, and traverse the Middle Atlas Mountains. The day will be largely spent exploring beautiful forests, springs, rugged rock formations, and Berber villages while crossing the Atlas Mountains, eventually descending towards the Sahara Desert.

Midelt - Midway through, a lunch break is scheduled in the town of Midelt, famous for its fossils and rocks. Afterward, the journey continues towards Merzouga along the road.

Merzouga - Stop to enjoy a panoramic view of the expansive oasis filled with palm trees before reaching Merzouga in the afternoon. After a refreshing mint tea break, the guide and camels will be ready to take travelers across the sandy dunes of the erg-Chebbi. Enjoy the beauty of the sunset during the camel ride, and after an hour’s journey, arrive at the desert camp to spend the night in a traditional Berber tent. At the desert camp, camels are secured, and mint tea is graciously served. The evening concludes with a delightful dinner, and as travelers lay beneath the desert sky, they can indulge in stargazing until drifting into a peaceful sleep.

Return to Fes or Marrakech

Fes el-Bali - After witnessing the sunrise and enjoying breakfast, travelers will head to either Fez or Marrakech, depending on their choice.
