Medina of Fez - The 3-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech begins by gathering all travelers at a designated spot in the Medina of Fez.
Ifrane - The first stop is Ifrane, often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco due to its charming gabled roof houses. A brief stroll is planned here. The city was founded by the French in 1928 as a retreat from the Sahara’s heat.
Azrou Cedar Forest - Following the visit to Ifrane, the journey continues through the Middle Atlas Mountains, with a stop at a Cedar forest along the way, where there is a chance to see monkeys native to the Atlas Mountains.
Aoufous - After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, the trip proceeds towards Merzouga. En route, there will be a stop to admire a panoramic view of a palm-filled Oasis.
Merzouga - Arrival at the Merzouga desert is scheduled for the afternoon. Here, travelers can enjoy a camel ride across vast sand dunes to a luxurious desert camp, a journey lasting about an hour and 40 minutes. A stop at a high dune offers a serene sunset view over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Alternatively, a 4x4 vehicle can be used to reach the camp, which is included in the price. Upon arrival, the staff will guide guests to their private tents. After a delightful dinner, guests can relax around a campfire while enjoying traditional Berber music played by the staff. A starry sky provides a perfect end to the day.
Merzouga Desert ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todra Gorges ⇢ Dades Gorges
Merzouga - An early rise is recommended to witness a magnificent sunrise. After a delicious breakfast at the camp, guests can choose to leave by camel or 4x4 car. Additionally, quad biking or buggy driving is available for an extra fee. Please inform the guide the night before if interested.
Souqs of Rissani - If the day is Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, a visit to Rissani is planned to experience a traditional Moroccan souk, which operates only three days a week. Rissani is also the birthplace of Morocco’s current ruling family.
Todgha Gorge - After exploring Rissani, the tour heads to Todra Canyon, Morocco’s deepest canyon with cliffs over 300 meters high. A walk beneath this stunning canyon is planned before moving to the final destination of the day.
Dades Gorges - Arrival at Dades Gorges is expected in the afternoon. The tour includes a drive to see the unique rock formations known as monkey fingers, followed by a visit to a spot offering a panoramic view of the Gorges.
Dades Gorges ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Marrakech
Dades Gorges - After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, passing through Kelaat Mgouna, famous for its roses. If the tour is during spring, a stop in a rose-filled valley is included.
Ouarzazate - Known as the Hollywood of Africa and the gateway to the Sahara Desert, Ouarzazate offers a visit to the Atlas Studio, the world’s largest studio by land area. Many films and TV series, such as Aladdin, Vikings, and Prison Break, have been filmed here. Guests can take photos outside or choose to tour the studio’s interior, which takes about an hour and a half and requires a ticket (not included in the price).
Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou - The guide will lead a tour of the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, sharing its fascinating history. This fortified village is a prime example of Moroccan architecture and was once a caravanserai on the Sahara Desert trade routes. The Kasbah has been featured in numerous films and TV series, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
High Atlas Mountains - After exploring the Kasbah, the tour proceeds to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains, with stops for breathtaking views along the way.
Marrakech - Arrival in Marrakech is expected in the late afternoon, with drop-off at the nearest accessible point to the hotel or Riad. This marks the end of the Fes to Marrakech desert tour.
