One of Istanbul’s most spectacular museums and undoubtedly one of the top attractions you shouldn’t miss on your trip. This is where several movies have been filmed, including the James Bond movie From Russia with Love and the film Inferno starring Tom Hanks. It’s a very exciting place.

Romantic Istanbul - The experience that perhaps leaves the most romantic memory of Istanbul. Magical atmosphere, to be tasted strictly with a physical or audio guide to appreciate the place at its best. Highly recommended

Basilica Cisterna - Definitely worth a visit, memorable the beauty of this cistern. It is possible to buy the entrance ticket online, possibly with a “skip the line” option to avoid very long queues. There are sites that also offer an online audio guide for the visit. However, I recommend downloading the guide in advance or alternatively listening to it as soon as you descend the stairs to the cistern as deep there is no telephone line. Magnificent place!

Honest Opinion - Great experience but not sure the price of £25 each is fair for what could take 15-20 min.
It is generally one big Cistern viewed from many angles. We went in a quiet season but I would hate to be there in high season as far too many people to enjoy it and photo opportunities would be reduced. Avoid ticket touts offering tours and jumping the queue. Imo the save time queuing line was longer than the normal one and you can Google the history on line before you go. Just my opinion, as I hate paying for anything I don't need.
The Cisterns were fascinating and remarkable for their age. Well worth seeing and something yiu won't get anywhere else.

Best place in Istanbul - It’s beautiful!! It is full of history. But 75€ to two!!!
Culture yes but not at any price. All the sites in Istanbul are prohibitively expensive (Saint Sophie 50€ per person , galata tour 50€, basilica cistern 37.5€ etc...) 275€ for two for the 3 visits, we had to give up several visits in front of the requested sums. Really tourists are just money pumps!!
But the basilica cistern remains our best memory.
That’s to see if you can afford it.
Good hearing.
