• Hippodrome - After visiting Hagia Sophia, walk through the area of the Blue Mosque, named for the blue tiles adorning its interior. Built between 1609 and 1616 during Ahmed’s reign, the mosque is currently closed for renovation. Stroll through Sultanahmet Square, stopping at the Obelisk of Theodosius and the Hippodrome of Constantinople, which hosted gladiatorial games, official ceremonies, celebrations, protests, and punishments during the Roman (203-330 CE), Byzantine (330-1453 CE), and Ottoman (1453-1922) periods.
• Sinan Pasha Complex - Proceed to the Sinan Pasha Complex, a distinguished example of classical period architecture. The complex includes a madrasa (school), a tomb, and a fountain, all constructed from carefully cut kufaki stone and enclosed by walls with iron windows.
