The locals still use the most convenient areas in the tunnels as cellars, storage spaces, and stables, accessed through their courtyards. The Kaymakli Underground City features low, narrow, and sloping passages. While the underground city has eight floors below ground, only four are open to the public today, with spaces organized around ventilation shafts.
Ortahisar Kalesi - The rocks surrounding Ortahisar Castle are bordered by steep valleys on three sides and were initially carved by the Etiler for protection and shelter during times of frequent wars. Later, it served as a refuge during the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, and Ottoman periods.
