Setting sail from Faro, enjoy the scenic views of Ria Formosa Natural Park as the journey heads towards the Atlantic Ocean. Once at sea, guides will be on the lookout for diverse wildlife, particularly cetaceans!
There is a high likelihood of spotting dolphins such as the Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) or the Common dolphin (Delphinus delphis), and with some luck, even Orcas or whales might be seen.
During this excursion, various species of marine birds like the Northern Gannet (Morus bassanus), Shearwaters, and Storm Petrels can also be observed!
It’s also common to encounter other creatures such as the Ocean Sunfish (Mola mola), Atlantic Bluefin Tuna (Thunnus thynnus), and some species of sharks or marine turtles.
After locating a group of cetaceans, the team of Marine Biologists will share information about the animals and gather data for research before returning to Faro.

At Faro harbour look out for Santa Maria Petisca Ria until you reach the flags. Over there look for the (middle) store with Ocean Vibes logo (you should notice some dolphins on the outside).

Up close and personal with beautiful creatures - We were in Faro in January, the worst time for seeing cetaceans because the large whales are only present on migration. Despite this Ocean Vibes provided a marvellous experience because they found a pod of common dolphins which swam over to our boat and then swam close to it and under it so that their agility in the water could be observed at close quarters. The young marine biologists who run Ocean Vibes radiated enthusiasm for cetaceans and made it infectious through their cutting-edge knowledge of the subject so that this was a very inspiring three hours. As a bonus they spotted an osprey fishing only a couple of hundred metres from the boat as we approached the harbour on our return.

Great experience - Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see dolphins. It was worth every penny. The length of the tour was perfect and our tour got even extended a bit as everyone was fine with it and we got to see more. There was a safety briefing before the boat trip and we had an insight of what we can expect to see. All the lads/marine biologists were very knowledgeable and informative. We got to see several pods of common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins and learn a lot of interesting facts about them.

I am very picky about... - I am very picky about what company’s I pick when it comes to animal activities. But this company seemed like the right one, and that was absolutely true. The biologists were very kind, professional and fun. They could tell us alot about the different species that live in the water, and it was amazing to have someone on board that knew alot about orcas. When we found an pod of dolphins they kept an respectable distance and gave the animals the choice to themselves to approach us. They didnt but I did not mind at all. We stayed with the pod for the 30 minutes that was allowed. Awesome to see these amazing animals in the wild!
For the boat. It was comfortable and even when there were big waves I felt really safe. The employee steering reacted so quikly to unexpected waves.

If you want to do a sightseeing tour while respecting the wildlife, go for this one!

Great experience with a great company - Booked the 11.30 trip as part of an EDT visit to Faro - so glad I did! The 2 marine biologists were great and gave really informative information, not just when we were lucky enough to see bottlenose dolphins, but both before and during the boat trip; I learned interesting info about the area and the marine life of southern Portugal in general.
We were a small group of 5 and there was plenty of room on the (very comfortable) RIB - even though the sea was a little lumpy and the breeze quite cool! (Tip- if doing this trip at this time of year, a woolly hat would be a great idea!).
We came across a small pod of bottlenose dolphins about an hour into the trip and were able to watch them for around 30 mins (the maximum legally allowed).

Great Trip - Very good trip, sea was a bit rough but that added to the experience I thought (aside from making me want to pee the worst I've ever needed).
Took a bit to find the dolphins but when we did there was a lot of them, guides reckoned it was different pods socializing there were so many swimming about. Whales are more for spring time I think someone said.
Would recommend.

Beautiful and interesting tour - A very nice boat tour with expert guides. With the small speedboat we have already seen the first dolphin group after a short trip. The guides were very responsible. Without hustling the animals, we could still look at them up close. There was also a lot of interesting information. An all-round successful tour that will stay with us for a long time.

Cancelled at relatively short notice - Unfortunately, the boat trip was cancelled at relatively short notice due to waves. We would have had the opportunity to ride the next day at 8.30 am. But as we had 1 hour of approach and the next day predicted strong clouds, we cancelled the boat tour. Driving 2 hours without us really having a good chance was not worth the risk.

Cancelled booking 35 minutes before the trip - They cancelled our booking via a WhatsApp message 35 minutes before the trip was due to depart. This completely ruined the last day of our holiday. If we’d been notified earlier we could have booked with a different company but this left us with no other option. Book with a different company to avoid being let down.
