The journey will take travelers across the “Green Line” into Northern Cyprus, a region that has been divided since 1974. The group will proceed to the crossing point and enter the northern part of the island. As they drive past the “ghost town,” a restricted area where entry is prohibited, they will reach the only accessible part of Varosha. Here, visitors will have the unique chance to stroll through the deserted city and down to the beautiful sandy beach, which was once a lively paradise for swimming and sunbathing.
The next destination is the ancient city-kingdom of Salamis, where travelers can explore the magnificent ruins, enjoy the scenic views, or even take a swim during the summer.
The itinerary includes a visit to the tomb of Saint Barnabas, the Apostle who introduced Christianity to Cyprus. There is also an option to visit the nearby monastery dedicated to him.
The day will conclude with an exploration of the old town of Famagusta, encircled by impressive Venetian walls. Visitors will have time to take photographs, shop, or simply unwind with a coffee.
