Setting Sail to Negril

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for experiences that promise both adventure and relaxation. When I heard about the Negril Day Trip from Falmouth, I knew it was a must-try. The seven miles of uninterrupted white sandy beach were a dream come true. We spent hours building sandcastles, splashing in the gentle waves, and soaking up the sun. The beach cabanas provided a perfect spot for a little shade and a quick snack break.

For those looking for more adventure, there were plenty of water sports available. While we opted to keep things low-key, I could see how this spot would be a hit for families with older kids or teens looking for some action-packed fun.

Cliff Diving Thrills at Rick’s Cafe

Next on our itinerary was the world-famous Rick’s Cafe. Known for its stunning cliffside views and daring cliff divers, it was a highlight of our trip. Watching the locals dive from the 50-foot cliffs was both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. My heart skipped a beat every time someone took the plunge!

While I wasn’t brave enough to try cliff diving myself, my husband decided to give it a go. The kids and I cheered him on from the safety of the viewing area, and his triumphant splash was met with applause from the crowd.

As the sun began to set, we enjoyed a delicious meal with a view that was nothing short of spectacular. The vibrant colors of the sunset reflecting off the water created a picture-perfect moment that we’ll cherish forever.
