Loved the view - breathtaking!
Little disappointed that there was no server bringing the food to the table, I think this would increase your revenue, in addition, to adding a pleasant experience for the customer. Would be nice if there was a 30 minute stop so people can get out and walk around and take pics.
I expected more views of the mountains and towns, but there were not too many trees lining the tracks to see much. It was enjoyable, but our plans for the afternoon had to change dramatically because we were an hour later getting back than planned. We had to wait for about a half hour for another train to pass. When we got to the summit we could seeing nothing because an abandon train was on the next track blocking all view of that way. I was quite disappointed. Over all it was a nice ride and fun, but i think I might choose a different railroad next time.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour!
Vermont scenery is always a treat, vintage railroad cars are a bonus
Great train ride and narration. Well maintained trains
Beautiful scenery and not very relaxing ride
The clickedy clack of the track, the scenic view with just the right amount of commentary, great company. The only thing that would have improved the experience was better Mac and cheese, and more chicken with the chicken basket other than that, I can't wait to go again!
Beautiful day, relaxing train ride; everyone very helpful.
There was plenty of room for everyone. The commentary was interesting, and the views - especially on the right side of the train leaving Chester - were wonderful. The train was punctual, staff was friendly, the food and beverages were good, and the prices fair. Our 1 complaint was that they had run out of Bloody Mary mix the night before and didn't re-stock :-( I would definitely do this again with visitors. ]\
Train was clean, all the railroad staff - ticketing, travel conductor, engineer, everyone was so nice and knowledgeable. Fun trip!
We enjoyed seeing the sights while relaxing and being able to chat with each other. The tidbits about the area were interesting. The staff was courteous.
Had a wonderful time. Great to be with family and enjoy the scenery and learn more about that area of Vermont. All in all and fantastic experience.
Our car was pretty cold in comparison to the other cars. The cars with the tables seemed to be a much better experience. Seems like those cars should be more expensive and ours (older cars with green benches that are cold with fogged up windows so you can’t see) less expensive. I must have misread it but I was expecting to have assigned seats based on what I read online. I also went to the dining car to buy lunch and the bartender was clearly exasperated and said it would be a minimum of 15 minutes but the woman in front of me had been waiting 30 minutes and all she ordered was a chicken salad sandwich. The bartender explained that they were feeding a private party and 300 people. Well, is that a surprise? I mean you knew the people you were going to have on the train, right?
So impressed with all staff members!!! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating!!! Starting at the depot window picking up the tickets to ticket takers and all those in between!!!! The conductor stopped to chat with the two year old when we pointed him out!! Even the engineer got in the act when we cheered as he went from one engine to the other down the aisle! The gal passing out coloring pages and markers...what a great idea! Everyone loves what they do and it shows! Old and young we all enjoyed!!!
I was disappointed because the food selection was poor. They ran out of a lot of food and we were still charged full price for everything. Other than that the ride was fine.
The trip was fine given it was a rainy day. Parking could be improved to better identify available parking areas. Waiting at the depot would be ok on a sunny day where you could wait outside, but with the rain there is very limited space and limited seating. We did not eat prior to the trip because we read that food would be offered on the train. Sold out of sandwiches in just a few minutes after opening the dining car. Very hard to understand given the crowd was very light due to the weather and the fact that the number of tickets sold was known. Poor planning. We would not return to do this same trip on another visit to the area.
Need train cars with windows in ceiling of cars to improve views of foliage.
Commentary was interesting and amusing at times which is fun. The personnel were more than polite and helpful. Very knowledgeable about all aspects of trains in general....past and present. The engineer was very willing to answer questions. The interior of the train was neat/clean...obviously taken care of.

Train rides right through the beautiful fall colored woods. Very pleasant staff and enjoyable experience.
The train ride was very peaceful and relaxing. It was a fun thing to do on a rainy day. It was great to have access to food and beverages . The only thing that could have been better was the weather! We went with two other people and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Then we had a nice drive home to MA from Vt. Vt. is always lovely in the fall!
The view was incredible and we had a great time! We would definitely recommend this it.
My first experience on a train it was great
Great ride. Great staff. No complaints whatsoever. We would highly recommend taking the time to make the trip.
We had a nice time and enjoyed ourselves. The narration was very appreciated. There were a few places along the tracks where there would have been outstanding views but trees were blocking it. I don't know if some could be removed in strategic spots, but it would make the views better. One thing that we would have loved to have seen more of would be train staff in period costumes!
Great trip … friendly, helpful crew
The train ride was magnificent however we were planning on lunch but they ran out of sandwiches. It would have been nice to know we could have brought our own food aboard. We will recommend the ride!!!
We had expected to eat during the ride. We were unable to do so. The concession procedures would benefit from some improvements.
Wonderful fall train ride. Loved the scenic New England landscape and authentic old RR Station and rail cars. The three hour ride makes a worthwhile experience. All personnel were nice and the food service was good. Highly recommend. Ed & Priscilla Orange CT
I had been on this ride before, several years ago. This was a nostalgia outing for me, and it was as I expected. You should have a little gift shop open for these trips. That was you only failing that I detected. I strongly recommend this foliage trip to others who enjoy the autumn foliage like I do.
