Setting Sail to Paradise

The sun was just beginning to rise as I made my way to the dock in Fajardo, the salty breeze already whispering promises of adventure. I was about to embark on a Caribbean Beach Day Trip to either Flamenco or Culebrita, two of the most stunning beaches in the Caribbean. As a former professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours in the ocean, but the thrill of discovering new waters never fades. The anticipation of what lay ahead was palpable.

The high-speed catamaran awaited, its sleek design promising a swift journey across the pristine waters. The crew, led by the charismatic Captain Richard, welcomed us aboard with warm smiles and a laid-back vibe that immediately set the tone for the day. As we set off, the catamaran cut through the waves with ease, the sun glinting off the water like a thousand tiny diamonds.

Snorkeling in Crystal Clear Waters

After a smooth 50-minute cruise, we arrived at a vibrant reef just off Culebra’s western shore. The crew anchored the catamaran, and it was time to dive into the underwater wonderland. Culebrita greeted us with its powdery white sands and breathtaking views of St. Thomas in the distance. The beach was blissfully deserted, a hidden gem waiting to be explored. I spent the afternoon beachcombing along the shore, the soft sand warm beneath my feet.
