Setting Sail to Icacos: A Caribbean Dream

The sun was just beginning to rise over the horizon as I made my way to the marina in Puerto del Rey. The anticipation of another day on the water had me buzzing with excitement. As a former professional surfer, the ocean has always been my playground, and today, I was about to embark on a catamaran adventure to Icacos Island with Eastland Excursion. This wasn’t my first time with them, and I knew I was in for a treat.

The crew welcomed us aboard with warm smiles and a genuine enthusiasm that set the tone for the day. I slipped on my snorkel gear, eager to explore the underwater world that awaited. The vibrant coral reefs were teeming with life, and I found myself surrounded by schools of colorful fish, graceful rays, and even a curious octopus.

For those who preferred to stay dry, the catamaran offered a glass-bottom view of the marine life below. But for me, nothing beats the thrill of diving in and becoming one with the ocean. The water was warm and inviting, and I spent hours snorkeling, beachcombing, and simply soaking in the tranquility of this secluded paradise.

As midday approached, the crew prepared a delicious deli-style lunch buffet on board. Freshly baked bread, an array of sliced meats and cheeses, and a selection of salads and fruits made for a satisfying meal. With a full belly and a content heart, I lounged on the deck, basking in the sun and the gentle sea breeze.

The afternoon was spent exploring a nearby reef, where the underwater landscapes were just as mesmerizing as before. The catamaran’s water slide added an extra element of fun, and I couldn’t resist the temptation to make a splash. As we sailed back to the marina, the camaraderie among the guests was palpable, and it was clear that this day had been a highlight for everyone on board.
