Visit the Maidum archaeological site in Lower Egypt, followed by the Pyramid of Hawara and its mortuary temple. Then, explore El Lahun. - Lahun Pyramid - The mud-brick Lahun or El-Lahun pyramid was first uncovered by British archaeologist William Petrie in 1889 in Fayoum, approximately 60 miles away.
- Meidum Pyramid - This archaeological site in Upper Egypt features a large pyramid and several mudbrick mastabas. In its current ruined state, the structure stands 213 feet (65 meters) tall, with its entrance aligned north-south. The entrance is located in the north, 66 feet (20 meters) above the current ground level. A steep descending passage, 57 feet (17 meters) long, leads to a horizontal passage just below the original ground level, which then leads to a vertical shaft 10 feet (3.0 meters) high, culminating in the corbelled burial chamber. It is unlikely that the chamber was ever used for burial purposes.
