- Fayoum Oasis - At approximately 7 AM, an experienced tour guide will pick up the group to begin an exciting tour. The journey starts with a drive to El Fayoum province, located 95 km southeast of Cairo. The first stop is Wadi El Rayan, a nature reserve featuring the Wadi El Rayan depression and the Valley of the Whales. The Wadi El Rayan depression boasts two salt lakes, created by agricultural drainage water in 1970, connected by stunning waterfalls.
Next, the tour proceeds to Wadi El Hitan, or the Valley of the Whales, situated 90 km east of El Fayoum. This site was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in July 2005 due to its numerous fossils of some of the earliest whale species, providing insights into the evolution of whales.
The tour continues to Mudawara Mountain, located near the lower lake. Following this, the group will visit Madinet Madi, home to the ruins of a well-preserved temple from the Middle Kingdom, built by Amenemhet III and IV. On the way to Qarun Lake, there will be a stop for lunch in Tunis Village, renowned for its exquisite pottery. After lunch, enjoy a leisurely walk by Qarun Lake.
Finally, the tour concludes with a drive back to Cairo.
