Join us for an unforgettable, family-friendly adventure as we take you inside Castner Ice Cave, nestled within one of Alaska’s renowned glaciers! The journey begins with a drive from Fairbanks, where you’ll pass through open tundra, spot herds of caribou, and see the Trans-Alaskan pipeline. On clear days, the breathtaking Alaska Mountain Range will be visible.
Upon reaching the glacier area, participants will be equipped with snowshoes or ice cleats for their boots before embarking on a guided 1.5-mile hike to the Ice Cave! The hike is relatively flat and easy-going, but be prepared for the extreme cold temperatures that can pose challenges.
During the excursion, you’ll learn about the history of Alaska’s glaciers, geology, local history, and much more as you explore an ice cave so vast that everyone can walk inside! This is sure to be an adventure you’ll want to share with friends and family.
