Exploring Albuquerque: A Breaking Bad Adventure
When I heard about the Breaking Bad Tour in Albuquerque, I knew it was an experience I couldn’t pass up. As a fan of the series and a lover of urban exploration, this tour promised to be a thrilling adventure through iconic filming locations.
The RV Adventure Begins
As a former city planner turned travel writer, I have always been drawn to the vibrant pulse of urban landscapes. So when I heard about the Breaking Bad Tour in Albuquerque, I knew it was an experience I couldn’t pass up. My love for the series, combined with my passion for exploring cities, made this tour a perfect fit. I joined my relatives from Florida, and we converged in Albuquerque, ready to dive into the world of Walter White.
The tour began with us boarding an RV that was a spitting image of the one from the series. It was like stepping into a time machine, complete with cooking pots and Breaking Bad memorabilia. Our guides, Craig and Jackie, were not only knowledgeable but also incredibly entertaining. They set the tone for an exciting journey through the iconic filming locations of Breaking Bad, El Camino, and Better Call Saul.
Iconic Stops and Hidden Gems
Our first stop was Jesse’s house, a location that instantly brought back memories of the series. As we moved from one site to another, a screen above the driver played clips from the show, enhancing the experience and making it feel like we were part of the story. The tour was a perfect blend of nostalgia and discovery, as we visited key houses, restaurants, and businesses featured in the series.
One of the highlights was our lunch at Twister’s, famously known as Los Pollos Hermanos. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was electric, with fellow fans sharing their favorite moments from the series. We also visited the industrial laundromat, Delta Uniforms & Linens, where we met one of the actresses from the show. Seeing the large articulating dryer that concealed the stairs to the infamous cooking lab was a surreal experience.
A-1 Experience
The tour continued with a visit to Octopus Car Wash, known as A1 Car Wash in the series. Walking through the car wash was a special moment, as it was one of the most iconic locations from the show. Craig and Jackie provided insightful commentary throughout the tour, sharing behind-the-scenes stories and trivia that added depth to the experience.
As the tour came to an end, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of fulfillment. The Breaking Bad Tour was more than just a trip down memory lane; it was an immersive experience that brought the series to life in a way I never imagined. For fans of the show and urban explorers alike, this tour is a must-do. It captures the essence of Albuquerque and the magic of Breaking Bad, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.
