Begin the morning drive southeast via Asela,
Enjoy a lunch break in Asela,
Continue the drive to Bale National Park, arriving at the park headquarters in the early afternoon. Spend a leisurely afternoon hiking to observe endemic mammals commonly seen in the area, such as Menelik’s bushbuck and mountain nyala. Birdwatching opportunities include sightings of the black-headed siskin, Rouget’s rail, wattled ibis, spot-breasted lapwing, Abyssinian longclaw, and many others.

Day 2: Discovering Bale National Park

Spend the entire day exploring Bale National Park. Visit the stunning rock formations, travel through the Harenna Forest, and explore the Afro-alpine zone or the Sanetti Plateau. Continue the search for endemic species, including the Ethiopian wolf and birds such as the blue-winged goose, chestnut-naped francolins, alpine chat, and many more.
