Bale Mountains National Park is an ideal place for walking, trekking, and hiking for those who love nature, culture, wildlife observation, research, and more. The park is recognized for harboring the Ethiopian wolf, mountain nyala, giant molerat, and Bale monkey. UNESCO warns that a greater number of mammal species would face extinction if the habitats of the Bale Mountains were to degrade, compared to any other region of the same size worldwide. Factor in the unique amphibian species, endemic birds, and stunning plant life, and it’s no wonder the park is recognized as a Biodiversity Hotspot by Conservation International.
