- Beaver Meadows Visitor Center - This is an excellent spot to obtain a trail map. It’s packed with information to help you choose the right trails. The center also provides park maps, restrooms, gifts, and souvenirs.
- Moraine Park Discovery Center - A fantastic place to learn about the park’s geology and history. The building itself holds historical significance as the last remaining structure from the Moraine Park Lodge, once a popular tourist destination.
- Bear Lake Trail - At the Bear Lake Trailhead, you can choose from several trails. The shortest and most popular is the Bear Lake Trail, which takes about 15 minutes. Other trails range from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours.
- Glacier Gorge Junction Trailhead - Like most trailheads in the park, this one offers access to various trails, many of which are lengthy. For an easy hike just over three hours, the Glacier Gorge Trail is recommended, popular for birding and camping.
- Bierstadt Lake - This trail, just over three miles long, is favored for snowshoeing, horseback riding, and its stunning lake.
- Horseshoe Park - Named for the glacial melt that shaped it into a horseshoe millions of years ago, this valley now features expansive meadows that attract wildlife.
- Sheep Lakes - As the name implies, this area provides park information and exhibits. Located near the four beautiful Sheep Lakes, it’s a popular spot for bighorn sheep and elk.
- Alluvial Fan Trail - An alluvial fan is where water cascades over boulders moved by a massive flood in 1982, resembling a waterfall. This easy trail passes right by it.
- Beaver Ponds - Enjoy a five-minute walk along a boardwalk through wetlands created by beavers. Long ago, beavers built a dam, and organic material accumulated behind it. Once it collapsed, the soil flowed out, forming the wetlands seen today.
- Hidden Valley Trail - This peaceful stop features an easy half-mile nature trail, picnic tables, and flush toilets. It’s a lovely place to stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh air.
- Many Parks Curve Overlook - From here, you can see Horseshoe Park, Moraine Park, and Beaver Meadows. Viewing platforms around the curve offer different perspectives.
- Rainbow Curve Overlook - Another viewpoint, this stop is above the treeline, offering unobstructed views of nearby peaks and valleys.
- Forest Canyon Overlook - A short walk through the tundra at this overlook provides a view down into a river flowing through a canyon, showcasing Hayden Gorge and Gorge Lakes.
- Tundra Communities Trail - This one-mile trail features interpretive signs about the tundra’s flora and fauna. You’ll also see the Mushroom Rocks, boulders over a billion years old that resemble mushrooms.
- Lava Cliffs Overlook - The cliffs visible from here are composed of the park’s only volcanic rock, part of the Never Summer Mountain Range, and are the park’s youngest.
- Gore Range Overlook - This spot offers stunning views of the Gore Range, the Never Summer Mountains, and the flat-top of Longs Peak.
- Alpine Visitor Center - As the highest elevation visitor center in any national park, it features a seasonal café and typical offerings. It’s the only place to grab a bite in the park, with epic views from the nearby Alpine Ridge Trail.
- Medicine Bow Curve - This beautiful overlook provides views of the Medicine Bow Mountains, La Poudre River, and Wyoming on a clear day. Wildlife sightings are common here.
- Milner Pass - Stand on the Continental Divide here, home to the Ute Trailhead and views of Poudre Lake.
- Lake Irene Picnic Area - This area features a half-mile loop around Lake Irene. Across the street is Sheep Rock, where bighorn sheep often sunbathe.
- Farview Curve Overlook - Situated at 10,000 feet elevation, this overlook offers views of Kawuneeche Valley, the Colorado River, the Never Summer Range, and Jackstraw Mountain.
- Colorado River Trailhead - As usual, several trails are available here, ranging from easy to challenging. The Colorado River trail is recommended.
- Beaver Creek Picnic Area - In the fall, elk are often seen here. The area includes tables, toilets, and fire grates.
- Beaver Ponds Picnic Area - Another picnic area offering excellent bird watching, two ponds, tables, and toilets.
- Holzwarth Historic Site - Originally homesteaded by early settlers, this site now offers a 1.5-mile stroll around the land, with some original structures still standing.
- Bowen Mountain - This roadside overlook provides views of Bowen Mountain and the Colorado River.
- Bowen-Baker Trailhead - Various trailheads of different levels are found here. Even without hiking, it’s a wonderful place to spend time, featuring a beautiful meadow, picnic tables, and restrooms.
- Coyote Valley Trailhead - An easy, riverside, one-mile trail that is wheelchair accessible and stroller friendly.
- Bowen Gulch Trail - This 15-mile trail is perfect for walking along the river and exploring the beautiful area. Enjoy a stroll along part of it and turn back when you’re ready.
- Harbison Meadows Picnic Site - Originally homesteaded by two sisters, this area is now a beautiful meadow with picnic tables and is popular with wildlife.
- Kawuneeche Visitor Center - This visitor center is unique for its Rocky Mountain Conservancy Bookstore, offering an opportunity to learn more about anything seen or heard during your visit.
