Superb tour really fascinating - Ray gave an absolutely fabulous tour. Full of interesting facts he really brought history to life. He really knows his history, the contextual information made it clear he wasn't just working from a learned script. I can't recommend this highly enough.

What the Romans really did for us! - An outragously entertaining and fasciniating journey through the history of Colchester and Roman life, and how the Roman Empire still influences our lives today. Ray's enthusiasm and knowledge carried us back two millennia to discover the reality and harshness of daily life.....unless ofcourse you were a Roman or someone of importance! The tour transports you from before the arrivial of the Romans, the changes following their occupation and eventual departure, the arrival of the Normans, then onward to the English Civil War, eventually bringing you back to the present day and how the Romans had an influence on the Space Shuttle. This tour is highly recommended for all ages.

A wonderful mix of spooky tales and history. - Ray was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, you can clearly tell that he has a passion for what he does. The evenings walk was a wonderful mix of spooky tales and the history behind them and the tour was rounded off with a visit to the amazing Red Lion Hotel, So glad we chose to do this on our first visit to Colchester. Would love to come back and do the other tours on offer.
