Day 1: Kharakhorum - Erdene Zuu Monastery
Meet your guide at 08:30 am at your preferred location, then embark on a journey westward to the Orkhon Valley. The drive, primarily on paved roads, will take approximately 4 hours. Enjoy lunch at a local eatery along the way. Upon arrival, visit the Erdene Zuu Monastery to experience the monks’ chanting, which begins at 2 pm. Explore the main temples and wander around the grounds. Afterwards, enjoy a guided tour of the fascinating local museum, and consider visiting the local felt workshop or the Art Gallery. In the late afternoon, visit the monument of the 3 Kings overlooking the Orkhon River, and see the fertility stone on the town’s edge.

Day 2: Khogno Khan - Uvgun Temple - Elsen Tasarkhai Dunes - Camel Riding
After a relaxed breakfast, travel to Khogno Khan nature reserve, home to the Uvgun temple complex. This area is where taiga meets rolling steppes and the northern Gobi dunes. Take a short hike to the Uvgun temples, constructed in the 17th century by Zanabazar, but destroyed in the 1930s during communist purges. After returning to the vehicle, drive 25km to the Elsen Tasarkhai dunes, where you will stay with a family of camel herders. Settle into your ger, and once the camels are ready, enjoy a 1-hour Bactrian camel ride into the dunes, capturing photos from camelback. In the evening, return to your settlement and savor a traditional home-cooked dinner with the host family.

Day 3: Hustai National Park - Wild Takhi Horses - Hiking
After a leisurely breakfast, set off for Hustai. The 3-hour drive will bring you to the park’s information center, where you can learn about the diverse wildlife in the National Park. Enjoy lunch at the ger camp located at the park’s entrance, then explore the park to see the wild Takhi horses. Your guide will coordinate with park rangers to locate the animals, offering a great chance to see them up close. You may also choose to hike deeper into the park to track wild deer or foxes, as Hustai provides excellent wilderness hiking opportunities. Afterwards, take a short drive to the Nomadic settlement and enjoy a hearty home-cooked dinner.

Day 4: Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex - Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, head to the impressive Chinggis Khaan Statue complex. Upon arrival, climb inside to reach the exterior staircase that ascends the horse’s mane to a viewpoint overlooking the Tuul River, Terelj, and the Khan Khentii hills. Visit the museum of horse culture within the complex. Then, enjoy lunch at the complex restaurant. After lunch, return to Ulaanbaatar, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choice (multiple drop-offs can be arranged if needed).
