Goats climb these trees for grazing and to learn more about argan production you can visit one of the women cooperatives in the area working on the extraction of both nutritive and cosmetic oil.\n\nOur destination is the historic city of Essaouira, a small seaside town with an old fortified fishing port. Founded in the 16th century by the Portuguese who occupied it till the mid of the 18th century. the impressive town fortification consists of an amazing mixture of the Portuguese, Berber and French architecture . after an orientation walk, you will have enough time to explore the small city at your leisure such as the souks and carpentry workshops devoted to Thuya wood carving. See numerous art galleries in the medina and visit the fortified harbor with its stalls of fresh fish. After lunch, you can snap up last-minute gifts or maybe a short stroll along the fine sandy beach before you meet the driver to set off back to Marrakech.
