The Český Krumlov Free Tour sets off from the main square of Český Krumlov daily at either 10:30 AM or 2 PM. Your tour guide will be identifiable by a red t-shirt and a matching red umbrella.
Purchasing this ticket serves as a substitute for a donation at the conclusion of the tour.

Must do to learn the most! - Our family group of 4 joined an additional 9 at the Town Square to meet Stephen on a cold morning in Decemberafter Christmas. Stephen was punctual, patient with questions and very professional. His aspirations to one day be a teacher should be confirmed with his ability to bring you back in time to explain how Cesky Krumlov began, continued to grow with generations of rulers, through world wars, communist rule and its modern day survival thanks to tourism. The tour was thorough and just under two hours. We enjoyed our time together. Lots of walking, steps up/down and cobblestone streets. Be prepared. Enjoy!

Cesky Krumlov free tour with amazing guide Jan! - We had a beautiful time in Cesky Krumlov. Our tour guide Jan was amazing. She is a local who was very informative on the history, the buildings, the arts, shops, cafes and restaurants. Would recommend tour 100%.

Excellent tour with local guide - Great tour with a very knowledgeable guide (and a local!). The tour had the right mix of history, culture and recommendations and didn't feel too long or too short. Definitely recommend a tour with Jan to gain a better understanding of this wonderful city.

Excellent tour - highly recommended - Excellent - highly recommended.
I wish I could remember the name of our guide. He's 42, co-owner of the company I think. A native of Cesky Krumlov. Speaks perfect English. Good sense of humour. Did a fine job of keeping things (and about 20 people) moving.
The tour content was a balanced mix with something for everyone: history, architecture, controversies, noble families, restaurant recommendations, local myths, beer, the communist era, and how Cesky Krumlov became dilapidated and now has been restored.
The only disappointing aspect was the people who were engaged and enjoying the tour for nearly two hours of our guide's time, but who then melted away at the end when it was time to volunteer some payment/ tips. If you don't like a free tour, leave as soon as you realise it's not for you. But if you're going to soak up a couple hours of information, recommendations, and entertainment, then have the decency to show your appreciation.

Great walking tour with Kristina - Exploring Český Krumlov with Kristina was a highlight of our trip. Her deep knowledge of the town’s history, charming storytelling, and warm personality made the tour both informative and fun. She brought the medieval streets to life with fascinating anecdotes and hidden gems we’d never have found on our own. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a meaningful and memorable experience in this magical town!

Great slice of local history. - Jan was funny but informative, having lived in CK most of his life. He handled questions well and kept the group on track timewise. The tour was a nice length and we would definitely recommend.

Amazing tour guide of charming town - We have done many guided free tours and I must say, our guide Christina was amazing! While the town is charming and naturally beautiful with the red roofs and fall foliage, knowing a bit of its history really enhanced our experience. She also took us to some sight seeing spots, away from the crowds. We stopped by a restaurant and sampled some light and dark beer which was a nice touch. The highlight was hearing her sing!! Her beautiful voice reverberating from the acoustic setting inside St Vitus church was an exceptional experience. Highly recommend this tour and to visit Cesky Krumlov
