The ambiance was nice, and the hostess was very professional and nice. The escape room clues weren't well put together and it didnt make sense. You spend alot of time finding clues and struggle to put them together. If you go, please bring someone thats over 50.

The "Time Cop" room at Escape the Past was very sophisticated, so if you're looking for something different than the conventional puzzles and locks found in ordinary escape rooms, this would satisfy your goal of a new challenge. Unfortunately, the "high tech" aspect of the design caused some confusion because certain actions were triggered (over and over) without the group knowing what random act had taken place and because we didn't realize the operator didn't have eyes and ears on the room, we assumed they were trying to redirect us every time we heard certain instructions repeat - so we lost a fair amount of time reworking things we had already accomplished. Also unlike the 6 other rooms I've done, it will cost you 5 minutes for each hint you request from the operators after the first (all other places have offered 3 'free' hints) and the hint offered here was complicated because when we finally succumbed and asked for our 1 free hint, she said, "What do you want to know?" Gee, if we knew what we needed to know, we would already know it! While other places seemed to be aware of the progress we'd made and came in with a suggestion of what to tackle next, here we had to spend about 5 minutes explaining what we'd done so far, which of course cost us more time. And finally, while most of the puzzles were possible, we ended up losing ( my first time ever - ugh) because the 'last piece if the puzzle' (which we only know because we asked after failing) was a series of about 4 VAST LEAPS of logic that truly our group never could have gotten in any amount of time. While it's fun to be challenged, it's not fun to lose; and being told that there is only a 40% success rate in the room did not make me feel better, it just made me wish I had read a review before choosing that location out of the dozens in the Houston area.
