Luciano Leone is an exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate guide - Throughout our small group tour Luciano provided us with such clear explanations about Herculaneum and why the site is so well preserved. He brought to light some tiny details that told the story of society at Herculaneum prior to the volcanic eruptions. We are not normally that interested in archaeology however this tour is so insightful we would recommend to everyone. Thank you Luciano, this tour was very special and not to be missed.

A beautiful afternoon in a well preserved ancient city - What a gem! Herculaneum is not to be missed if you want to see a well preserved city over 2000 years old. Luciano was a very knowledgeable and interesting tour guide/archaeologist and we highly recommend this tour.

Great guide - Herculaneum, Pompeii and the National Archeological Museum in Naples,Ed were the focus of our trip to Italy. To maximize our experience we planned on private guides at each location. Our first visit was to Herculaneum and our guide provided a fabulous two hour tour. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and an excellent command of English. She was the perfect way to start our in-depth exploration.

A Step Back Into Roman Times. - A wonderful tour of the most preserved ruins of a seaside Roman resort town of the first century that was destroyed in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The archeologists have provided the excavated ruins and our guide, Mena, provided an interesting, knowledgeable, and entertaining tour that put a human face on the impressively preserved houses, stores, and public baths.

Our Guide knew all the “secrets of Herculanum “ - Mena was incredible. She explained various sites with an obvious deep understanding . When you book a tour try to get Mena

Roberta was fantastic but not an “archeologist” - Roberta was lovely and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our tour very much but she is not actually an archeologist. I would not have paid so much for a private tour with an excellent tour guide (who I she is). So I recommend Roberta as a guide but I do not recommend booking the “tour with an archeologist.”

Terrible tour guide - do not use - We had a terrible tour today. The guide did not really know anything, she was definitely not an archaeologist. She took us into a room and said things like “wow look at the red wall.” She couldn’t understand our questions in English. She also finished the tour after 1.5hours even though we had paid for 2hours. Definitely do not use - a total waste of money. We would have learnt more without her.
