Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - Following breakfast at the hotel, your driver guide will pick you up for a transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. The journey will take you through the renowned Luweero Triangle, with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. At the sanctuary, enjoy a 1-2 hour walk to track the Rhinos, the only place to see them in the wild. After lunch, continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi town. Another stop will be made at the top of the falls for breathtaking views of the water forcing through a 7-meter gorge and dropping over 43 meters below, creating a stunning rainbow. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Game Drive and Launch Cruise to the Bottom of the Falls
Murchison Falls National Park - Start your day early with a game drive before sunrise. As Uganda’s largest park, Murchison Falls offers a diverse range of wildlife, including Lions, Leopards, Buffalos, Elephants, Giraffes, Warthogs, Antelopes, Waterbucks, Bushbucks, and numerous bird species. After a 3-4 hour game drive, return to the lodge for a late breakfast and relaxation. After lunch, embark on an afternoon launch cruise to the bottom of the falls along the Victoria Nile. This 3-hour boat cruise provides views of water-loving animals such as Hippos, Crocodiles, Buffalos, and various bird species like kingfishers, Cormorants, Hornbills, Goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelicans, and bee-eaters. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Depart for Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park - Enjoy an early breakfast at the lodge before departing for Kibale National Park. The journey takes you through the Western Rift Valley’s Albertine Escarpment, the lush countryside, and traditional homesteads within the Bunyoro and Toro Kingdoms. Upon reaching Fort Portal, clear days offer a glimpse of the legendary snowcapped Mountain, also known as the “Mountains of the Moon” (Mt Rwenzori). Kibale Forest National Park is home to 13 primate species, including Chimpanzees, and over 325 bird species, including the rare Green Breasted Pitta. Arrive at your lodge in the evening.
Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Swamp Walk
Kibale National Park - Transfer to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a briefing about the chimpanzees and their forest lifestyle. Then, embark on a journey to find these primates. Upon spotting the chimps, you have one hour to take videos and pictures. Along the way, you may also see other primates like L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Red-tailed Monkeys, Blue Vervet Monkeys, and Black & White Colobus Monkeys. Other animals include Forest Elephants, Buffalos, and numerous bird species. After tracking, return to your lodge for lunch, then set out for a nature and bird walk in the Bigodi Swamp. This wetland project, run by local communities, is renowned for its rich diversity of bird species and other primates. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Road Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the country’s premier wildlife parks, home to over 600 bird species and mammals like Lions, Leopards, Elephants, and Buffalos. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Game Drive and Boat Ride Along the Kazinga Channel
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After an early breakfast, depart for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi area. Look for wildlife such as Lions, Leopards, Buffalos, Elephants, Antelopes, Warthogs, Waterbucks, and Bushbucks. After lunch, embark on a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel hosts one of Africa’s largest hippo populations and numerous bird species. This 3-hour boat cruise offers views of water-loving animals like Hippos, Elephants, Buffalos, Crocodiles, and various bird species. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Ishasha Sector and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, leave the northern side of the park and transfer to the southern Ishasha sector. Enjoy a mid-morning game drive in search of the rare tree-climbing lions. In the afternoon, continue to the renowned Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, known for its endangered Mountain Gorillas. Check in at your lodge.
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Begin your day with an early breakfast at your lodge, then transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. Afterward, start your trek. Searching for gorillas may take 2-5 hours, depending on their last known location. Once spotted, you have one hour to take videos, photos, and ask the rangers and guides questions about these magnificent apes. Besides the gorillas, the forest is home to other wildlife and bird species, including butterflies, primates, mammals, and frogs, all visible along the trek. After seeing the gorillas, return to your lodge to relax for the rest of the day. The entire activity can take 5 to 9 hours. Packed lunch and hiring porters are highly recommended. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.
Road Transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park - After an early breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest national park. The journey offers stunning scenery and views of the Ankole Kingdom, with animal farms and various crop plantations. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge in Lake Mburo. In the afternoon, set out for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, looking for Hippos, Buffalos, and more. The park is renowned for having the largest number of Zebras in Uganda. Other animals include Impalas, Oribis, Giraffes (recently relocated from Murchison Falls), and numerous bird species. Overnight at your lodge.
Lake Mburo National Park to Entebbe/Kampala
Entebbe - After breakfast, enjoy a game drive as you exit the park. Look for animals such as Impalas, Zebras, Oribi, Topi, and Elands. Lake Mburo is one of the few parks where guided nature walks are possible, allowing you to see most animals as if on a game drive. The park is home to over 300 bird species and is popular with birders. Later, drive back to Entebbe, with lunch en route. Stop at the Equator for a water demonstration and photography. Proceed to the airport in time to conclude your 11 Days Uganda Safari Adventure and catch your evening departure flight to your next destination or home.
