Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch - The first stop will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the sole location in Uganda where rhinos roam freely in their natural environment. With the guidance of park rangers, embark on a rhino tracking adventure for one to two hours before proceeding to Murchison Falls.
Masindi - The next destination is Masindi town for lunch, a place where Ernest Hemingway and his wife stayed in 1923 after their plane incident near Murchison Falls. They were safely rescued by a tourist launch. Arrive at Murchison Falls National Park in the evening and relax at a comfortable lodge.
Safari Drive in Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - The second day of the safari in Murchison Falls begins with a game drive after breakfast. Explore one of the park’s renowned game viewing tracks: Albert, Buligi, or Victoria. The Nyamsika gorge area is rich in wildlife. Spot various animals, including four of the Big Five: lions, elephants, leopards, and cape buffaloes. After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile. The sight and sound of the waterfalls are both soothing and breathtaking. As you sail upstream to the falls’ base, observe hippos and crocodiles along the riverbanks.
Equator Crossing and Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After an early breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, stopping for a water experiment at the Equator and lunch at Igongo Cultural Center. Arrive at the park in the evening and enjoy a game drive en route to your accommodation at a cozy lodge or safari tent.
Full Day in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Continue the safari with a game drive after an early breakfast. Head to the famous Kasenyi plains with an experienced ranger. The plains, a vast African savanna, host the largest concentration of wildlife in the park. Besides big game and predators, the plains are home to various wetland bird species.
Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park or Village Walks in the Countryside
Kibale National Park - After an early breakfast, set off for Kibale National Park, renowned for its chimpanzees. Two options are available:
First, transfer to Kibale Park headquarters for a briefing before trekking through the forest to find chimpanzees and other primates like red-tailed and colobus monkeys. The trek offers sightings of numerous primates, birds, and butterflies along forest trails.
Fort Portal - Alternatively, drive through Fort Portal, “Uganda’s Tourism City,” and enjoy lunch en route. The drive through traditional homesteads and farms offers beautiful scenery. Upon arrival, opt for a village walk to explore Uganda’s cultural heritage or relax at your accommodation.
Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park or Bigodi Swamp Nature Walk
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - Two options are available:
First, drive to Mgahinga for early morning gorilla trekking, one of the most thrilling wildlife experiences. An experienced ranger will share fascinating insights about the jungle’s flora, fauna, and gorilla lifestyle.
Transfer to Kampala and check into a hotel.
Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary - Alternatively, visit Bigodi Swamp for a nature walk. The sanctuary, located in Magombe swamp, boasts diverse biodiversity, including primates like red colobus, black and white l’Hoest, colobus, grey-cheeked, vervet, mangabey, red-tailed, blue monkeys, and baboons. Mammals such as sitatunga, bush pigs, bushbucks, otters, mongooses, and chimpanzees from Kibale National Park also frequent the swamp.
