Pick up and Transfer to Murchison with a Detour for Rhino Tracking at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Murchison Falls National Park - Ideally, your flight should arrive in Uganda early (before noon). Your guide/driver will meet you at Entebbe Airport, and you’ll set off for Murchison Falls. Highlights of this park include the thunderous rapids of the Murchison River and the expansive plains of Uganda’s largest National Park, where you can spot lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. You’ll also be amazed by the large numbers of hippos and Nile crocodiles. Bird enthusiasts will enjoy the 450 bird species, including the elusive shoebill stork, dwarf kingfisher, white-thigh hornbill, and Goliath heron.

On the way, make a detour to visit Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you’ll spend at least an hour tracking rhinos. Another stop will be in Masindi for lunch. Continue to the park and check into your accommodation to relax for the evening.

Murchison Falls Game Drive and Boat Trip to the Base of the Falls

Murchison Falls National Park - Enjoy breakfast before departing for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park, where you can see lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. Bird watchers will appreciate the presence of the secretary bird and black-chested snake eagle, among others. Return to your accommodation for lunch. Afterward, embark on a boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls, where you’ll see more animals, including hippos, crocodiles, and various water birds. You can also choose to hike to the top of the falls. Though challenging, the view from the top is breathtaking and worth the effort. Return to your accommodation for a relaxing evening.

Exit Budongo and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Kampala - Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your accommodation before setting off for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll be dropped off at your booked accommodation for relaxation and an overnight stay, in preparation for the next day’s trip to Bwindi NP.

Transfer to Bwindi for Epic Gorilla Trekking

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Your guide/driver will pick you up from your accommodation and depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is a significant habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda, home to over 300 of them, making it a must-visit safari destination.
The drive takes you southwest across the Equator to Mbarara for lunch, then through savannah grasslands to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The scenic drive through Kigezi Highlands, banana plantations, and views of herds of long-horned Ankole cattle, endemic to this area, leads you to the gorilla sanctuary of Bwindi.
Arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening, check into your accommodation, and relax as you prepare for the gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation

Lake Bunyonyi - After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of this rainforest is stunning! The area features dramatic, steeply forested landscapes and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails for tourist access. The time and terrain vary with the movements of these magnificent primates. Once you locate a gorilla group, you’ll spend an hour in their presence. Observing these gentle and endangered giants is an unforgettable, thrilling experience. Return to your lodge for lunch, then check out for a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is surrounded by lush, green-terraced hills reaching heights of 2,200 – 2,478 meters, and its 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water create a magical view.

Depart Bunyonyi for Your Outbound Flight at Entebbe Airport

Entebbe - Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your accommodation with a spectacular view of the small islands of Bunyonyi before embarking on your return journey to Entebbe Airport. Expect en route stopovers in Mbarara town for lunch and at the Uganda Equator line mark in Kayabwe for memorable photos (if you didn’t stop on the first day) and perhaps to purchase some art pieces of interest. Continue the journey, arriving in the late afternoon/evening for drop-off at the airport.
