Kampala - Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary - At 07:00 am, begin your journey to the northwest of Uganda, heading towards Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes you through various regions of Uganda’s countryside. The first stop will be at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided on-foot rhino trekking experience. Currently home to 32 southern white rhinos, this trek lasts about 1-2 hours, depending on the rhinos’ location. Visiting the sanctuary offers a wonderful encounter, bringing you safely close to these rare and magnificent animals. Afterward, enjoy a lunch break. In the afternoon, take a nature walk to conclude the day at the sanctuary, guided through paths filled with the sights and sounds of nature, with opportunities to see diverse wildlife such as the Uganda Kob, bushbuck, oribi, warthog, waterbuck, reedbuck, vervet monkey, black and white colobus monkey, and many more fascinating animals.
Ziwa to Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - After breakfast at Amuka Lodge, depart for Murchison Falls, Uganda’s largest and one of its finest parks. The park is home to 76 mammal species, including 4 of the Big 5, and the world’s largest population of Rothschild’s giraffes, as well as over 450 bird species. The park is named after the stunning Murchison Falls, which were named by explorer and naturalist Sir Samuel Baker after geologist Roderick Murchison. Arrive in time for lunch at the hotel after a 3-4 hour game drive, where you can spot lions, elephants, buffalos, and more. Also, look out for special bird species such as the Abyssinian ground hornbills and grey crowned cranes. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at your reserved hotel.
Game drive & Boat ride
Nile - Enjoy an early breakfast at 06:00 am before heading to the northern bank of the River Nile for game viewing. You will encounter giraffes, antelopes, elephants, buffalos, Uganda Kob, and occasionally lions. After lunch, embark on a 3-hour boat trip on the Nile, one of the tour’s highlights. The trip takes you to the bottom of the falls, where the Nile River bursts through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a tranquil river. On this cruise, look out for hundreds of giant Nile crocodiles gliding along the surface, hippos, buffalos, and elephants quenching their thirst at the riverbanks, and a variety of water birds like herons, ducks, bee-eaters, kingfishers, skimmers, fish eagles, and sometimes the rare shoebill. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Return to Kampala
Kampala - This marks the end of the tour. Depending on your departure time, a company representative will transfer you directly to Entebbe International Airport or to a hotel/guesthouse where a room has been arranged for day use for those taking late flights.
