White Water Rafting in the Nile, Jinja
Jinja - After enjoying breakfast, you will be driven to Jinja for an exhilarating white water rafting adventure, which can be a full-day or half-day experience based on your preference.
This thrilling rafting trip covers up to 31 km and includes a delightful barbeque lunch and complimentary drinks after the adventure.
Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
Fort Portal - Following breakfast, you will depart for Kibale National Park in western Uganda. The journey takes approximately 8 hours, including a lunch stop in Fort Portal town.
Along the route, you will pass through charming small towns, villages, tea farms, and roadside markets, showcasing the beauty of the Ugandan countryside.
You will arrive at Kibale with ample time to relax and unwind after a day of travel.
Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park
Kibale National Park - After an early morning breakfast, your driver/guide will take you to the Kibale National Park office for a briefing on tracking chimpanzees in the wild.
You will embark on a guided primate walk to find chimpanzees and 12 other primates, including l’ Hoestes, Red colobus, blue, red-tailed monkeys, brown monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabey.
The park rangers will provide detailed insights into the primates and all the forest’s flora and fauna, ensuring an informative and enjoyable walk.
Upon locating the chimps, you will spend 1 hour with them before returning to the park offices.
You will return to the lodge for lunch and refreshments.
After lunch, you will visit the community and take a walk in Bigodi Swamp, home to the great blue Turaco bird. The swamp hosts around 200 bird species and 8 primate species. Later, return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Visit Caves and Craters. Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Amabere Caves - After breakfast, begin the day with a cultural tour of the Amabere ga nyina mwiru caves, a significant historic site located 10km from Fort Portal town.
An informed guide will accompany you, sharing knowledge about this place. Remember to bring a flashlight, hiking boots, long trousers, etc., as you will enter the caves. Afterwards, hike the explosion crater lakes in the area and return to Fort Portal town for lunch and a visit to the Tooro Kingdom Palace.
In the evening, drive to Uganda’s second-largest park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, while enjoying the changing views of the mystical Rwenzori Mountain ranges.
Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, embark on an early morning wildlife safari game drive in this park. Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse ecosystem of grassy plains, tropical forests, rivers, swamps, lakes, and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.
With the majestic Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop, you will have excellent opportunities to see lions, leopards, giant forest hogs, cape buffalos, elephants, waterbuck, Uganda kobs, topi, and bushbuck.
After lunch, enjoy a 2-3 hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This cruise offers the chance to see possibly the highest concentration of hippos, with many animals drinking at the water’s edge.
This launch cruise provides excellent opportunities for photography, bird watching, and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and impressive, with more than 600 different species.
Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - After breakfast, you will be driven from Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This 6-hour journey passes through the Kigezi Highlands, an area known as the “Switzerland of Africa.” The journey takes you through terraced hills and winding roads to the Bwindi forest, with a stopover in Kabale for lunch.
Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Today is the big day! Prepare for an encounter with the gentle giants, the rare mountain gorillas.
For many, this is the highlight of their tour. You will enter the forest in groups of no more than 8 to search for mountain gorillas. Along the way, your guide will point out signs of gorilla activity such as dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots.
Your trek will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes, and bamboo. Upon finding the gorillas, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them before being led back to the starting point.
Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, Afternoon Boat Cruise
Lake Mburo National Park - After breakfast, depart Bwindi for Lake Mburo National Park, with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch. Lake Mburo is the best and easiest place to see a large number of zebras in Uganda.
You will also see other wildlife such as buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, elands, antelopes, and numerous birds, as well as the local long-horned Ankole cattle in nearby ranches.
Enjoy an afternoon boat ride on the lake to see a variety of birds and hippos.
Drive from Lake Mburo to Entebbe
Entebbe - After breakfast, proceed for a wildlife safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park. An armed ranger will accompany you to ensure your safety. You may also encounter a herd of zebras peacefully grazing alongside the long-horned Ankole cattle. Early risers might spot Lake Mburo’s hyenas in their cave.
Return to the lodge for lunch, then drive back to Kampala.
There will be a stopover at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers to witness the creation of ceremonial drums using traditional methods passed down through generations. There will also be time to stop at the equator for photographs.
Transfer to the Airport and Fly to Masai Mara
Maasai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, based on your flight schedule, your guide will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight to Masai Mara with Aero link.
Wildlife Safari in Masai Mara National Reserve
Maasai Mara National Reserve - Depending on wildlife migration patterns and the weather, enjoy an early morning breakfast followed by a full day of game drives within the reserve. The Masai Mara is renowned for its black mane lions and the annual wildebeest migration.
This is one of Kenya’s most visited reserves, with an extraordinary density of animals including the Big Five and many other varieties of plains game. The Mara River flows through the Mara and Serengeti ecosystems, sustaining both reserves before finally emptying into Lake Victoria.
The wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle migration from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Mara in Kenya is impressive and notable, with numerous obstacles making it even more magnificent.
Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue with the game drives, arriving at the lodge in the evening for a well-deserved rest and a hot, relaxing shower.

Maasai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, embark on another game drive to follow the migration of the wildebeests crossing the Mara River.
Drive from Masai Mara to Nairobi/JKIA
Nairobi - Enjoy an optional final early morning game drive before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Begin your safari back to Nairobi around mid-morning.
There will be a brief stopover at Narok town before proceeding to Nairobi city and the JKIA for your onward flight. This marks the end of your Gorillas and Masai Mara Safari in Uganda and Kenya.

Our trip proceeds west to the charming town of Fort Portal, and later, the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. Your tour guide will then lead you to Kibale Forest National Park for a thrilling chimpanzee tracking activity.
Following this, we will descend to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you can enjoy boat rides on the Kazinga Channel. The expedition continues south to the dense woodlands of Bwindi where you’ll have the opportunity to see the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. As we journey back to Kampala, a visit to Lake Mburo National Park is in store.
