A Warm Welcome to Ensenada

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for experiences that can be both exciting and relaxing for families. When I heard about the Ensenada Shore Excursion and its promise of a leisurely pace, I knew it was something I had to try. Arriving at the port, I was greeted by Javier and Tomas, our guides for the day, holding a sign with my name on it. It was a small touch, but it made me feel like a VIP right from the start. Our tour was scheduled to begin at 10, but we were early, and they were ready to accommodate us without any fuss.

The journey to La Bufadora took about 45 minutes, and Javier was attentive to our comfort throughout. He frequently checked in to ensure the temperature in the van was just right and even asked for our music preferences. Traveling with a big group can sometimes be challenging, but Javier and Tomas made sure our two vans stayed together, allowing us to enjoy the ride as a cohesive group. It was a thoughtful gesture that made the experience even more enjoyable.

Exploring La Bufadora

La Bufadora, the famous marine blowhole, was a sight to behold. Watching the powerful spray of water shoot into the air was mesmerizing, and the surrounding artisan market added to the vibrant atmosphere. I love a good bargain, and the market was a treasure trove of unique finds. Haggling with the vendors was part of the fun, though I understand it’s not for everyone. If high-pressure sales tactics aren’t your thing, you might want to take a more leisurely stroll and simply enjoy the sights and sounds.

Javier and Tomas waited patiently for us in the parking lot, giving us the freedom to explore at our own pace. It was reassuring to know they were there, ready to whisk us back to the ship whenever we were ready. This flexibility is something I always appreciate, especially when traveling with kids. It allows for those spontaneous moments that often become the highlight of a trip.

A Relaxing End to the Day

One of the unexpected highlights of the excursion was the opportunity for a massage at Ensenada Massage and Excursions. Although there was a mix-up with the number of massages available, those of us who did get to experience it found it to be one of the best massages of our lives. It was a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploration.

While I felt bad that not everyone in our group could enjoy the massage, it was a reminder of the importance of flexibility and going with the flow when traveling. Next time, I’ll be sure to book in advance and pay full price to ensure everyone gets a chance to relax. Despite this hiccup, the excursion was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ensenada. It’s a wonderful way to see the city and its natural wonders at a pace that suits you.
