• Archaeological Museum of El-Djem - This museum boasts a significant collection of Roman mosaics, spanning from the 2nd to the 5th century, showcasing many pieces discovered in the city.

The museum is constructed on the site of a Roman villa, replicating its spatial layout: a central courtyard encircled by a peristyle, providing access to various rooms. Exhibits include sculptures, mosaic paintings, ceramics, and more, from excavation campaigns conducted in Thysdrus and its surroundings.

The museum offers direct access to an “archaeological park” featuring the remains of the so-called villa of the peacock and Sollertiana, a magnificent patrician residence that has retained many of its mosaic floors in their original location. Nearby, a life-size reconstruction of the “House of Africa” has been completed, a lavish aristocratic residence built around the 170s AD.

• Amphitheatre of El Jem - Constructed around 238 AD in Thysdrus, within the Roman province of Africa Proconsularis, now El Djem, Tunisia, this amphitheatre is among the best-preserved Roman stone ruins globally and is unique in Africa. Like other Roman Empire amphitheatres, it was designed for spectator events and ranks among the largest in the world. It can accommodate approximately 35,000 people, with the major and minor axes measuring 148 metres (486 ft) and 122 metres (400 ft) respectively. The amphitheatre is built from stone blocks on flat ground and is remarkably well-preserved.
