A Journey to the Heart of Siwa

As a wildlife photographer and travel writer, my adventures have taken me to some of the most remote and breathtaking corners of Africa. Yet, the allure of the Siwa Oasis in Egypt had always been a dream waiting to be realized. I had first glimpsed its beauty through a documentary on French television, and the vision of this hidden gem nestled near the Libyan border captivated my imagination. The journey began with a long drive from Cairo, a 13-hour expedition that was anything but mundane. Our first stop was the El Alamein World War II Military Museum, a poignant reminder of history’s echoes in this land.
