• Ek Balam Village - Begin the journey at the ancient Mayan site of Ek Balam, known as the “Black Jaguar.” This classic period site offers a chance to admire the tomb entrance crafted for the ancient king and explore various temples, all with the guidance of our exceptional archaeological experts.
• Rio Lagartos - Head to the Rio Lagartos Biosphere to embark on a boat tour and observe a variety of bird species such as herons, fishing eagles, pelicans, and, of course, flamingos. Along the way, encounter other coastal ecosystem residents within the mangrove forests, including the impressive crocodiles and raccoons.
• Las Coloradas - Visit the renowned Las Coloradas, or “magenta waters,” where pink lakes stretch across the landscape, creating a stunning contrast with the blue skies. The striking pink hue of these lakes is due to red-colored algae, plankton, and brine shrimp that flourish in the salty environment. Flamingos are pink because they consume these pink shrimp.
