Berg-en-Dal - Malelane Road - The tour kicks off with a picturesque drive to the first camp. Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp, located in Kruger National Park, opened in 1984 and is aptly named ‘mountain and dale’ for its stunning setting. The camp area, featuring Malelane Mountain Bushveld (woodland), has been carefully preserved, attracting a variety of grazers. Visitors can spot White Rhino, Kudu, Impala, Giraffe, some Elephant, Reedbuck, Klipspringer, Grey Rhebok, and warthog.
Leopard and Wild Dog are frequently seen in the area. Lions are typically found in the lower plains on the roads to Skukuza and Crocodile Bridge. Bird enthusiasts will find Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp irresistible due to the wide variety of bird species present.
Upon arrival, guests check in and settle into their chalets, then embark on a sunset drive before returning to camp for a traditional South African BBQ (known locally as a braai) before retiring for a well-deserved rest.
Lower Sabie - Here We Come!
Satara - Land of the Predators
Satara Camp Road - The day begins with the first bushwalk of the tour, led by qualified armed rangers, offering an up-close experience with some of Southern Africa’s Big 5.
After returning to camp, a hearty breakfast awaits before packing up and heading to the next camp.
Satara Rest Camp, the third largest in Kruger National Park, is centrally located in South Africa’s Kruger National Park and is renowned as one of the best places globally to view Lion, Leopard, and Cheetah, thanks to the fertile grazing land that attracts large herds of antelope.
This reputation has earned it the nickname ‘cat camp.’ Large cats are often seen in the Muzadzeni area, where a large and successful Lion pride resides.
This area is particularly fruitful in winter when the veld is dry, and Lion and Leopard lie in wait to ambush.
After checking in, guests can enjoy a refreshing swim before heading out for a sunset drive followed by dinner.
