Memphis - Journey to the world’s first capital, not just Egypt’s. Here, visitors will explore:
- The ruins of Egypt’s first capital.
- The museum dedicated to the great King Ramesses II.
- The pyramid fields extending over a desert plateau for more than 30 kilometers (19 miles) to the west, including the renowned Pyramids of Giza, recognized as a World Heritage Site, Memphis, and its Necropolis.
- Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - With our tour guide, travel back in time to the world’s oldest building and pyramid, Sakkara.
Saqqara houses the oldest complete stone building complex known in history, the Pyramid of Djoser, constructed during the Third Dynasty. Sixteen other Egyptian kings also built pyramids at Saqqara, now in varying states of preservation. High officials added private funeral monuments throughout the Pharaonic period. It remained a significant site for non-royal burials and cult ceremonies for over 3,000 years, extending into Ptolemaic and Roman times.
- Pyramids of Dahshour - Next, visit one of the world’s oldest stone structures. Located south of Saqqara, the Dahshur necropolis features some of Egypt’s earliest and most distinctive pyramids. This site provides a rare insight into the evolution of pyramid construction during the Old Kingdom, especially under Pharaoh Sneferu.
The Bent Pyramid is notable for its unique shape, with a dramatic change in angle halfway up—an early experiment in pyramid engineering. Nearby is the Red Pyramid, Egypt’s first successful true smooth-sided pyramid, and the third-largest in the country.
Dahshur is less crowded than Giza, offering a serene and awe-inspiring experience among ancient marvels.
- Pyramid of Unas - The Pyramid of Unas – The First Pyramid Texts – Note: closes at 11:55 AM (VERY LIMITED)
The Pyramid of Unas, situated at the Saqqara necropolis, belongs to Unas, the last pharaoh of Egypt’s Fifth Dynasty. Despite its small size, this pyramid holds immense historical and spiritual significance.
Unas’ pyramid is the first known to feature Pyramid Texts—a collection of ancient religious inscriptions carved into the burial chamber walls. These sacred spells were intended to guide the king in the afterlife and laid the groundwork for later funerary texts like the Coffin Texts and Book of the Dead.
The inner corridors remain accessible today, allowing visitors to traverse history and stand amidst the world’s earliest religious scripture.

Serapeum of Saqqara - The Serapeum of Saqqara
A mysterious underground complex dedicated to the sacred Apis bulls.
Massive granite sarcophagi, each carved from a single stone block, pose questions about ancient engineering and beliefs in the afterlife.
