• Rjúkandi Waterfall - The tour begins with a drive to Rjúkandi Waterfall located in Jökuldalur Valley. Here, there will be a brief stop to enjoy an easy and accessible walk up to the waterfall. Following this, the journey continues to Stuðlagil Canyon.
• Stuðlagil Canyon - Situated deep in the secluded Icelandic countryside, Stuðlagil Canyon is a truly extraordinary spot. On the eastern side of the Jökulsá River, there is an easy to moderate half-hour walk to reach the canyon’s gorge. The total time spent at Stuðlagil Canyon is approximately 2-3 hours, allowing ample opportunity to explore and appreciate the stunning scenery. During most of the summer, the river’s water is clear with a turquoise hue, but by early August, it transforms into a greyish glacial color.

Journey through the serene countryside of East Iceland, traveling along the stunning Jökuldalur valley. Make a stop at the charming Rjúkandi Waterfall before proceeding to Stuðlagil Canyon, renowned for its remarkable basalt formations.

This tour includes an exploration of the canyon’s east side, featuring a hike of approximately 2.5 km each way (5 km in total) on a mostly flat gravel path. The route includes two gentle inclines and declines, which may present a slight challenge for some, but are generally easy and manageable for those in normal walking condition.

Upon reaching the canyon floor, participants can marvel at the striking basalt columns and the glacial river up close — an unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike.
