• Eger Castle - Eger Castle is a historic medieval fortress located in Eger, Hungary. It is renowned for successfully defending against the Turkish siege in 1552. During the Mongol invasion in 1241, the Bishop of Eger relocated to a rocky hill in Eger, where a new castle was swiftly constructed. In 1552, an Ottoman force of 35,000-40,000 soldiers attacked the castle, which was defended by 2,100-2,300 men. The siege was unsuccessful, with the Turks incurring significant losses, and 1,700 defenders survived. The Turks besieged the castle again in 1596, achieving victory. In 1701, the Austrians demolished half of the castle.
• Eger Minaret - This minaret is the best-preserved in the country. Standing at 40 meters tall, its balcony is 26 meters high. The breathtaking view from the top is worth the climb, despite the 97 steep steps of the spiral staircase.
