- Makedon Kulesi - The Macedonian Tower is a rare site where three civilizations overlap. This historical tower is part of the Roman city walls, built by Roman Emperor Hadrian. It is the only remaining example of the towers on the ancient Edirne walls. The area, including the Macedonian Tower and surrounding wall remnants, is organized as the Edirne City History Museum and Archaeological Site. As part of the museum, showcasing Edirne’s 8300-year history in layers, the Macedonian Tower also serves as a viewing terrace, offering a unique panoramic view of Edirne, welcoming those who wish to see the city from above.

Edirne is a magnificent city boasting 1,585 recorded historical landmarks, ranking it the second European city with the most historical landmarks per square meter, following Florence in Italy. The city served as the second capital of the Ottoman Empire, succeeding Bursa and preceding Istanbul.
Please note: The most frequented sites are included in our agenda, which is designed to cover the maximum number of sites visitors can witness in a day. The itinerary is flexible, enabling guests to allocate their time according to their preferred locations and to omit places they aren’t interested in visiting in Edirne.
The day trip begins with a pick-up from your location in Istanbul at 08:00, followed by a drive to Edirne. We’re expected to arrive around 10:30, and the sightseeing tour will continue for about 4 hours, plus 1 hour for lunch. The total drive time is approximately 5 hours. All in all, the entire day tour of Edirne from Istanbul takes about 10 hours. It concludes at 17:45 - 18:00. At the end of the tour, we drive back to Istanbul and drop you off at your location.
