Fantastic. - Immersion in the wildest nature in Scotland. Really beautiful Highlands. Interesting anxhe Lochness. Francesco Landi, the guide, demonstrated professionalism and sympathy and deep knowledge of Scottish history.

Not bad - Previous reviews about Spanish guide speaking English are all accurate. But what goes in the tour favor are their best efforts to keep it comfortable. Its a long drive covering lot of locations. I would recommend dropping the last stop on the itinerary, it is nothing but stretching the trip with nothing adding value

Good tour/ bad tour guide - Our tour was very nice to see a lot of Scotland highlands and Loch Ness. We got to pet the fluffy highland cows. It was also nice that they had multiple people that spoke different languages and we all had our own headphones to listen in our own languages. I will say our tour leader was sick. He snorted and coughed throughout the day as he spoke in our headphones. He actually almost blew out our ears with a few of his coughs. He also lost train of thought when telling stories, it made us lose interest in what he was saying most of the time. I wish it had been better.

Scenery was beautiful.... - Scenery was beautiful. Bus was a little run down and whisper devices to hear tour guide didn't work very well.

Very disappointing. - This trip was very poorly organized. It was chaos getting on the bus. There were multiple groups leaving at one time and no one knew where to go. It was advertised as an English speaking trip, but we were on a tour with a Spanish guide who spoke poor English. We had headphones to listen to for information and they were of poor quality. We spent most of our time on the bus and not seeing the Highlands. I was really hoping for more out of this trip.

Bad Experience - This tour was with Loch Ness Tours. I’ll start with the positives: The Scottish Highlands are beautiful. We spent ample time at each location. The bus was clean and well-maintained. Now, for the less than positive: It was very difficult to find the location of the meeting place. There was one small sign on the inside wall of an unlit archway (tour began early. Meeting time was before the sun rose.) It was dark near the office and we were confused. When we turned around, we saw a young man sitting on some steps inside a doorway smoking; he was actually one of the guides for the tour. It was clear that we were confused, and he offered no help until we asked. He was right behind us, he heard us. The departure was unorganized. The same guide moved us from spot to spot on the sidewalk and gave instructions that we couldn’t hear. Our tour guide (another person) began by telling us how educated he thought he was. He then spent the rest of the time trying to convince us of this with rambling dialogue. I, as well as many others removed our headphones after a while so we wouldn’t be subjected to it. I put the headphones back on several times, but still the same type of dialogue. Tours should be fun. He was boring and there was no humor. The bus ride on the way to the locations was terribly uncomfortable. I’m guessing, in order to stay on schedule, the driver had to drive fast around the many curves on the route. Perhaps they need to drop a stop or not offer that tour since it’s a fair distance from the city. The return drive was fine, so it was possible to drive that route so that it was comfortable. It was the worst tour I’ve ever taken. This company doesn’t seem to try to make this enjoyable for their customers. We took another tour the next day through Viator with another company that was wonderful. Would I take another tour with Loch Ness Tours? No way.

This Highlands tour is the cheapest for a reason - it’s the worst - I’ll start with a positive: The Scottish Highlands are stunning! Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! Do not miss them. But avoid Loch Ness Bus, they are cheaper than the other tour operators but it’s not worth saving that little money. Shell out the extra £10-20. It’s a very long day and your tour operator matters. Here’s why I don’t recommend them: Chaotic & disorganised departure in the morning that was delayed by half an hour because they had overbooked and there were more people on the bus than there were seats. The whisper device they handed out did not work for me and many other people. The guide was inaudible even at the highest volume setting. I did not get ANY information about the places we visited. I also had to ask the guide important information about when to get back on the bus every time. It was never volunteered. They were eager to sell Loch Ness cruise tickets for £21 per adult (? more than the price at the ticket window) but gave no information on the time of the cruise or departure point once we reached that stop. Maybe it was whispered into that useless device they handed out. There is no bathroom on board and you go 3-4 hours without a bathroom break. Good luck if you don’t have a massive bladder. And don’t expect any information about where the nearest public toilets are when you do stop. A couple of places the stop was 45 minutes and 30 minutes were spent queuing for the bathroom because all the coaches stop at the same places. Just so you know. In terms of getting food, emptying your bladder, and making it back to the bus. They are disorderly enough that they might leave you behind. Be careful. No charging points on board the bus, another modern convenience that is necessary on a 12+ hour tour.
