- The Three Sisters - A brief stop will allow us to admire the Three Sisters, three distinctive rock formations. These sharp ridges are named Gearr Aonach (short ridge), Aonach Dubh (black ridge), and Beinn Fhada (long ridge).
- Fort Augustus - The journey continues to Loch Ness, passing through Fort William. The next destination is the Caledonian Canal and the Fort Augustus lock system. There will be ample time to explore the canal and take a Loch Ness cruise if desired. Remember to bring your camera! This spot offers stunning views of the lake and its surroundings.
The ticket for the one-hour Loch Ness cruise is not included in the day trip price (ticket prices for LochNessBus.com clients are: £18 for adults / £11 for children aged 5 to 15 / £16 for students and seniors over 60). No family discount is available. Payment for attractions is card-only to secure the group discount.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The cruise is unavailable on 26th December.
- Commando Monument - After departing Loch Ness, the journey leads to the Commando Memorial, a tribute to the courageous soldiers of World War Two. If the mist clears, the majestic Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain, can be seen from here.
- Pitlochry - The journey continues through Cairngorms National Park, passing Loch Lagann and Ardverikie Castle en route to Pitlochry. This charming village, filled with beautiful Victorian houses, will be the final stop before returning to Edinburgh. There will be time to enjoy a drink in one of its many pubs.
- Edinburgh - On the return to Edinburgh, enjoy the transition from the Highlands to the Lowlands and view the 19th-century Forth railway bridge crossing the Firth of Forth, another of Scotland’s World Heritage contributions. Upon arrival in Edinburgh, there will be time to offer tips on enjoying Scotland’s capital city.
