The next destination is Bamburgh Castle, beautifully situated by a white sand beach. This location has been featured in films such as El Cid, Robin Hood, and Elizabeth. Visitors can explore the castle’s interiors and its collection of aviation artifacts from both world wars.

Following this, the tour proceeds to Alnwick Castle, the second-largest castle in the UK, originally built in 1096. Harry Potter fans will recognize it as Hogwarts, and everyone can appreciate the gardens and Europe’s largest treehouse. During the winter months, when Alnwick Castle is closed, the tour will visit Lindisfarne, Holy Island, instead. Lunch can be enjoyed in Alnwick or on Holy Island.

On the return journey, there will be a stop in the charming village of Etal to view its 14th-century castle ruins before heading back to Edinburgh. Etal is not included in the winter itinerary.
