Absolutely unforgettable - The Edinburgh Dungeon is hands-down one of the most thrilling, hilarious, and immersive attractions I’ve ever experienced. From the moment you step inside, you’re pulled straight into Scotland’s dark and dramatic past with incredible actors, jaw-dropping sets, and perfectly timed scares that keep you on edge the entire time. The storytelling is brilliant—equal parts terrifying and laugh-out-loud funny—and the cast fully commits to every role, making the experience feel alive and unpredictable. The special effects, sound design, and atmosphere are top-tier, and the ride at the end is the perfect adrenaline-packed finale. Whether you’re a history lover, a horror fan, or just looking for a unique and wildly entertaining experience in Edinburgh, this is an absolute must-do. I walked out buzzing with adrenaline and a huge smile on my face. 10/10 — I’d do it all over again without hesitation! 👻🔥

Super fun, interactive... - Super fun, interactive experience. I was picked to be the witch in trial and kept getting picked out of the crowd. It was an amazing time. Not scary at all. Would definitely recommend

Fantastic fun experience - I want to address the majority of what I class as very petty low reviews. This is my second time doing the experience and much like the first it was fantastic. I see a lot of reviews giving out about the lack of historical accuracy and pantomime. I have to assume these reviewers either can't read or can't see because the advertisements and descriptions of the tour make it clear that it's a theatrical performance with some history. It's not a literary scholar with a PhD boring you to death. Fantastic experience with some great actors and would highly recommend!!!

Good experience with a side of history - We entered right at opening time and immediately went down to the photo booth. The photo booth is mandatory but you don't have to buy the photos. The photographer is in character and makes the whole experience very fun. You get different poses, one when you murder eachother and one in court getting charged for your crimes. You then get a rules rundown which is still themed towards the Edinburgh Dungeons. You then get taken through into the courtroom where three people are tried for various crimes. The people prosecuted continue to have a role throughout although so do other people. They won't choose children as audience participation. Overall a great experience with lots of different rooms and scenes. Some creepy and others downright disgusting. I would highly recommend it!

Another excellent dungeon experience. - We have been to the Dungeons all over Britain and they are so excellently done. Such a great way to learn a bit of history and be totally entertained as well. The actors are always excellent. It’s clever that some sections are very similar and others are different at each Dungeon. The Edinburgh one had some really good special effects as well.
