Cotopaxi National Park - Upon reaching the entrance of Cotopaxi National Park, guests will meet a certified local guide, essential for exploring the protected areas within the park. The adventure continues in a 4x4 vehicle, providing access to the park’s higher regions.
The initial stop is the parking area below the José Ribas Refuge, situated at approximately 4,800 meters (15,750 ft) above sea level. Visitors can embark on a brief hike towards the refuge to enjoy breathtaking views of the glacier and surrounding volcanic scenery.
On the descent, the journey continues to Limpiopungo Lagoon, a picturesque high-altitude lake where visitors can observe wild horses, Andean birds, and the distinctive páramo ecosystem.
