Cotopaxi - Absolutely wonderful experience. The tour operator was excellent (communication, service, cost). Our guide Ernesto was great and made the experience much better. The hike up to the refuge is a bit tough unless you are in decent shape but very doable. Highly recommended.

Good hiking experience to the volcano - Great trip , the two tour guides were very professionals, funny, and provided with good information during the trip. The experience to climb the volcano to the first shelter was a nice experience despite the weather that was a little rough due to high winds and rain, however the tour guides were taking care of the group all the time , I felt safe. The only recommendation I have is that the company should consider other place to have lunch, the restaurant were we stopped was not very good, small portions and regular quality . The bus condition needs to be improved or changed for a better one, especially because the bumpy road to arrive to the parking area where we started the hiking, made that part of the trip a little uncomfortable .

Cotopaxi - Excellent tour guide. He was very informative and friendly. The climb to the middle of the volcano can be physically challenging so I don’t recommend to those with heart or breathing issues.

Make sure you give... - Make sure you give yourself a day or two after you arrive in Quito to do this tour. I did it within six hours of landing and the hike up to Cotopaxi was tough, but I made it and it was worth it! Make sure to drink the coca tea they offer, it helps.

Irene is the BEST - I made the mistake of doing this tour the day after arriving in Quito and was hit really hard with altitude sickness but Irene was an amazing tour guide!! She was so responsive and patient and had hilarious jokes to keep us going while we were driving and climbing. Would highly recommend Irene!! 🤘

Cotopaxi - Wonderful experience, my partner and I took a tour to climb Cotopaxi, our guide Irene and her driver Patricio accompanied us at all times, they picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, they made this route great, very attentive. At all times, Irene explained to us step by step the recommendations we should follow so that we would arrive at the refuge safe and sound; she was the last one to arrive, as if she were the captain of the ship. I really recommend it 100% always because of Irene. Without a doubt, I will repeat with more people, with my friends. Thank you

Good Tour, but Be Prepared for Weather. - The tour was very good. The bus picked us up at our hotel. After getting all the guests in Quito we headed out and stopped at roadside restaurant/gas stations with bathrooms. It is helpful to bring your own toilet paper (like much of Ecuador). If not, you can buy some in the store. The park was very pretty and not very crowded. The guide was helpful and spoke both Spanish and English. Note that after you enter the park, the paved roads end and it gets very rough riding to the various locations. As always, weather is a factor the operator can't control. We had very cold conditions and very windy conditions once we got to the lake and the parking area below the refuge. The wind was abnormally strong and the altitude was high. I was unable to complete the climb to the refuge because of the weather, altitude, and general not feeling well. So, be prepared for the altitude and weather. Warm clothes are a good idea. Afterwards, we stopped at the visitor center again for a restroom break and the guide was helpful to take pictures of the mountain/volcano behind us. We had a cheap and nice lunch at a small restaurant outside the park. It's about an hour to the city and 30-40 minutes to drop everyone off. It would have been nice to have another bathroom break in between the restaurant and the hotel. So, make sure you go before you leave the restaurant. Overall it was a nice experience.

Should of done a private tour - The guide was fair at best. The native guide that joined was wonderful. She was encouraging and lovely. - the tour company guide was fair! The hike was extremely rigorous and should’ve been noted in the description. The right there and back was terrible through the bumpy mountains.
